Very in depth, though I admit I am not the target audience. I can definitely see how for those who greatly enjoy fishing, this would be an excellent downtime addition

Cool idea to expand on Fishing. I also struggled with parsing all the abbreviations, but I like the idea and all the different fish effects — and I really appreciate the inclusion of fish examples for each catch!

I hope you'll like the better formatted version when I can include proper tables outside of the 2 pages

This certainly is a more in depth fishing system! Overall I think it's fun and well done. I do think personally that once I got to the fishes section I was feeling overwhelmed with so many mechanics and things to keep track of. That may be because there is too much, or because you are restricted to two pages and it's just too dense for me.

I like where your head is at with this.

Developer(+1)

It is dense and I did cheese it a bit to get it in because I saw tables did not provide enough clarity to justify what I think it costs.

I definitely intend to expand it and make it clearer after the Jam.

Thank you for your time to detail your opinions.

Psiocratic Press is two people as such all our comments will differentiate between Will, Jacob, or Both's feedback.

The document is very dense, and while we appreciate that it is being thorough it might have been better to cut some content for the jam, and add it back in later when you didn't have a page count restriction. As it currently is the document can be hard to parse. -Psiocratic Press

I really like the ideas you have here, and can tell you're very passionate about them. If you were to expand this in the future I'd love to see some magical items reated to fishing, magic rods etc. -Jacob

I'm going to be honest, while this submission is really cool, and I'm sure there are tables out there for it, I would never use this at my table. I'm not a fan of the fishing mechanic in draw steel, and I don't feel that more detailed mechanics helps. -Will

  1. I understand. I did cheese it a bit to get all I wanted in. I looked at cutting some things in favor of having a better looking table but I didn't think it helped enough to justify it.
  2. Magic Items are a good idea. I'll definitely want to add some kind of imbuements and expand on other things.
  3. Fishing is not for everyone. Which is why I prefaced it as it is indeed for the fishing-game-fanatics.

Thank you for taking the time to detail your opinions.

Damn. There is a lot more to fishing then I ever thought there could be. I must keep this supplement hidden from 2 of my players. They would love the complexity, depth, and detail of this too much and melt my brain! Haha.

In all seriousness, your passion really shines through in this supplement.

Okay, as someone who has tried with all their might to break the Fishing downtime in their game of DS, this would be the perfect way to make my GM lose their mind.

Jokes aside, this supplement is super intricate and complex, and admittedly that might be a turn-off for some players, but at the same time everything checks out and has been clearly well thought out. For me and the other sickos who love ragebaitingly difficult fishing minigames, this feels like something we'd enjoy taking a while to plot out and pick apart. Good job!

It's an honored tradition for games to have an overly complicated fishing mini game that's near incomprehensible and convoluted for most players but a dream for fishing fanatics.

After reading and rereading this several times I can confidently say you have succeeded in creating such a monstrosity. Well done. I'm inflicting this on my habitual fishing respite enjoyer immediately.

Thank you. You made me laugh, you made me humble. 🙇‍♂️
