We interpreted it as "getting charged" as in losing money. So the point is not to "get charged" by messing up and paying out to someone who doesnt deserve it or getting sued by someone who does.

It looks like you had a lot of fun making patients! I do so love games in the Papers Please genre. One problem was not being able to look at the ID and doctor's note at the same time. It does add difficulty but it's not fun difficulty to me. Jam time is of course limited, but having more complicated rules to deal with is bit funner difficulty to me. Good game!

Fun little Papers-Please-like game, with very charming art style and good variety of things to look carefully at. My only complaint is i felt the money felt disconnected from the actual core gameplay loop, which was much more about being right or wrong. Maybe a way to make it deeper would be you can spend the money on something (upgrades?) between rounds so you care about the money more. Overall, a fun game, nice work!
Nice game :) I liked the visuals and "elevator music" in the background. I had fun with the gameplay, the tutorial explaining at the beginning what to look at was probably also helpful for people who never played any game from this genre. I had fun, I liked it, I was pretty good at it so failed on purpose after few tries :)
Maybe add a way to spend the money? Otherwise I had fun
