hello!

Hello!

I'm getting started publishing 3D low-poly assets on here, personally I use Blender for this purpose.  Apart from it being free, I like the ability to be precise with how 3D objects are created, as there are so many shortcuts and tricks to create a wide variety of shapes. Furthermore, there's a lot of features that I have still to figure out. In any case, I've managed to get some of my works onto my profile and am creating more over time in the hope that I can succeed as an asset creator.

My priority with 3D asset creation is with science fiction assets, as personally it enables the maximum range of creative expression as there are so many speculative topics to draw from and infinite variety. At a certain point the end result becomes impressive on its own after adding enough details.

My question now is what programs or features you use to create illustrations as well as what type of illustrations you create, as I am wondering what others are creating here.

Hello to this engaged community. I need some help from the experts. I came across a shot from a game but can't figure out what it's called. The game appears in a video review and is used as a background element for just two seconds in the video. 41:31.  www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvvR3ytCmew. This game appears after "03.04"

hi I have no idea what game that is, but also I don't think the introduction threads is the right primitive for this question : )

Hi, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I’m not quite sure where best to post this question on the platform, as I only recently signed up. I figured that the premier resource for indie games would be the best place to get help finding the specific indie game I’m looking for. I’d appreciate any help.

I'm DinosaurGameFreak, but you can also call me Retro.  I'm a cartoonist, a huge gamer and aspiring new game designer.  I'm actually working on my game called Draco Dragon.

I'm not most sociable guy around but I'm still trying to learn to open up a bit.  I like to play a lot of retro games even my game is nod to the 90s games that I grew up with.  I'm new to this site, but definitely looks like the place for new indie game designers to start out.

Hi. I’m a game developer and a student, based in Germany, and most weeks those two jobs argue about who gets the evening.

I grew up on Bomberman. A grid, soft bricks, two seconds of fuse, and four people on one couch discovering exactly how petty they can be — that is still, to me, the most honest multiplayer ever designed. Everything is on screen. No hidden information, no unfair angle. If you die, you walked into it, and everybody watching knows you did. The series taught me that a game does not need depth in its systems so much as depth in the decisions it forces, and I have been chasing that feeling in my own work ever since.

Outside the maze, I collect. Trading games and card collections are the other half of my shelf: binders, sleeves, and a completely unreasonable memory for which set a card came from. I like the economy of them — the negotiating, the slow assembly of something complete, the fact that a collection is a project with no deadline. And I play a lot of puzzle games. Falling blocks, tile matches, logic grids, anything that hands me one clean rule and then asks how well I actually understood it.

That mix is not an accident. A Bomberman round is a puzzle you solve while it is trying to kill you, a card collection is a puzzle you solve over years, and building games is a puzzle where you write the rules and then find out what you really meant by them.

What I care about as a developer: readable rules, fair deaths, and a game that is fun in the first minute and still interesting in the hundredth.

If you play any of that, or make any of it, I would like to hear from you.

Hi there, recently new to itch. I'm Liminary.

Very new to making games, I've only ever made one game and just released the demo few days back. I'm a big backrooms fan and as you might have guessed my game is based off the backrooms.

In my spare time I watch youtube, watch manhwa's, listen to music, watch anime.

Hello everyone, i'm new to making games and i just made my first game.  It's a turn-based strategy game and I would like any comment on it (good or bad) :).

In return, for those who comment on my project, I can also test your project and give you my opinion.  I have over 35 years experince in gaming :)

Hi, I'm CheesePixel. I'm a freelance artist who sells both asset packs and concept art. I don't understand why people buy concept art; in fact, 80% of my income comes from concept art. I would like at least someone to donate to me or appreciate my work on asset packs. I'm sad :(.

If you're interested in buying something unusual, visit my page: https://cheesepixel.itch.io/

Hello,

I saw your asset packs and they appear to be very good with color contrast. It's good to see a fellow asset creator on here. Personally, I prefer to create 3D assets using Blender, as I don't have a better pixel editing software than microsoft paint and I prefer to use the extra dimension to create intricate structures and objects. However, I do recognize the appeal of minimalist pixel art, which I think your assets have emulated very well.

Got any tips for marketing and/or increasing store activity? I've got a decent amount of content uploaded to my store on itch and on Gumroad (a similar site for asset creation) but analytics are surprisingly low even after waiting some time and adding new assets. I'm trying to participate in the forums as a means of increasing the visibility of my works, but it only seems to do so much. It also enables me to see how other asset creators are doing things here.

In any case, it was interesting to see what you made - my own niche is definitely quite different, but I'm wondering if you would like to take a look at my Blender creations (if you don't want to download anything, there are previews for all of my creations). I've got quite a few items so far and it's expected to grow significantly in the next few months. Maybe we could even further discuss things like ideas for future assets or best practices for storepage management.

Hi everyone! I’m Ikepapa, a game developer from Japan.

I’ve been working independently in game development for around 15 years, mostly on games for major publishers. About two years ago, I started making my own indie games too.

My main game is RETRYS, a short pixel-art adventure RPG made with RPG Maker. It’s on Steam, and you can also play it directly in your browser here on itch.io.

https://ikepapa.itch.io/retrys

Recently I’ve been having a lot of fun making smaller browser games too, including SEN, a vertical shooter / survivors-like, and SiegeCraft, a merge-puzzle defense game. I enjoy experimenting with simple mechanics and seeing where they go.

I also use AI quite a lot for programming and prototyping these days.

So I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone here is making. Nice to meet you!

Hi. I'm Ryan. I'm a composer.  I've been on the indie circuit for a number of years. I wrote the music to game called Frogatto and Friends, a few years back. I would like to network with fellow peeps, old souls and gamers young. It's been amazing watching not only games but the gaming community evolve over the years.

I'm also looking to join gamejams. Is the discord better for looking for teams?

Hello, my name is Corbett. Been working extremely hard for three years on our TTRPG, SORC: https://www.sorcrpg.com

Hey everyone! I’m Purno, a music creator with around six years of experience who’s recently started focusing on music for indie games.

I enjoy exploring different styles, including retro and chiptune, electronic, atmospheric horror, cinematic music, emotional themes, rock, exploration music, and boss tracks. I’m currently looking to meet developers and other creators, learn more about game development, and hopefully contribute to projects that genuinely interest me.

Hi! I'm Yosulman. I'm 13 years old and I make short games with JS without an engine.

I create all codes, graphics and audio for my games myself. Creating games is fun when you don't care if someone playes.

Anyone who read this must say hi! (just for fun)

i am making an show called Scratchy Guy https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1376629235/ Scratchy Guy is a Gemmy (or brimstone, depending on who you ask) rip-off of The Simpsons and Family Guy. It was created right now by an chud named 13GNARLY, who intended to make a show exactly like Family Guy but with Scratchslop and Codeslop thrown in the mix. Scratch Cat as Peter, Giga as Lois, Nano as Chris, Gobo as Brian, Pico as Stewie, and Tera as the worst character (Meg), This show fucking rocks

Hi, I'm from China, and I use AI to bring some of my spontaneous design ideas to life. I originally came to Itch because not many people in my home country seemed to care about my games, and I was also hoping they might help me land a job (spoiler: they didn't). Anyway, feel free to give my games a try—I personally quite like them.

Hi everyone!

I'm Emiliano, a music producer and composer from Italy, and I've recently joined the community.

My main background is in music. I've been working with composition, music production, recording, mixing, mastering and sound design for many years. I also play several instruments, and I've always been fascinated by the whole process of turning a musical idea into something real.

Interestingly, when I compose music, I often start by imagining images and scenes in my head. I picture places, characters, atmospheres and stories almost as if I'm watching a film, and the music somehow develops around those images.

That's probably one of the reasons why I've always been interested in video, filmmaking, animation, games and visual storytelling. I really enjoy the way music can completely change the atmosphere of a scene and influence how we experience a story or an interactive experience.

I'm also currently building a project of my own called THE3FORMULA, an independent royalty-free music library for creators. It grew naturally out of my work in music production and my interest in visual and creative media. I wanted to create a place where creators working on games, films, videos and other projects could find music to use in their work.

I'm joining this community because I'd like to meet other creators, discover interesting projects, exchange ideas and learn more about how other people approach game development and creative projects.

I'm looking forward to becoming a little more active here and seeing what everyone is working on.

Nice to meet you all!

P.S. Sorry for the very long introduction! 😄
