hey max, nice work! At first my brain completely forgot I had read I have to shoot to move so was confused when wasd was not working but then got the hang of the movement. you could add a small text box or control panel near the UI or on the screen saying shoot to move, might help someone who missed the instructions. It is actually a fun and unique concept :) I think it would be nice if the zombies were a bit faster because its not too hard to get away from them. the volume is a little loud so a volume slider might be nice if possible. I think you should increase the players friction a little bit because I think it is just a little bit too icey in my opinion, because you can slide out of screen into a zombie if your fast which kind of sucks. I like that you talk about a secret codename project. a way to pause with esc or something might be nice, you could add the volume slider on a toggleable panel or something like that perhaps. I like the UI you made. maybe you can add a map or arrows pointing on edge of screen so its easier to find zombies. nice game :) here is mine if you want to try: https://devinwill645.itch.io/decide-in-dungeon
Well done on making your game Max! The move to shoot concept is clever and the premise of the game is interesting.
I would recommend making the game controls more obvious to the user and seeing how other players try play your game, that way you can see what players intuitively do when they play your game. Also look out for visual feedback for things like guns, its not clear where you actually shoot anything or hit anything with you guns.
Keep at it and you'll pick up many things along the way, well done again for putting yourself out there and trying!
Feel free to try out my game as well: https://localhugdealer.itch.io/trust-no-1
I really love the opening where you show a conversation between text. (It must've taken a lot of time to code!) I also like how the concept isn't some typical mystery!
Here's my game: https://brookxii.itch.io/where-the-seeds-drift
One thing that i dislike is that you can't see the bullets from the gun
But overall the game concepts is interesting
