Got it to work! It was the full screen option from itch  that stopped any input for some reason (I removed it now you can fullscreen from options in the game). I also simplified the gestures it takes one horizontal stroke now to make a plane, and one vertical one to make a boat, and made the gestures much more forgiving.

I understand if you don't try again, just wanted to update you and thank you for your feedback it REALLY helped.
