The music and art are very high quality.
The design aligns well with the jam theme and deals with an important factor for groups of mercenaries that isn't explored enough. I would like to comment however that equating payment with trust is oversimplifying it. That is acceptable for a video game, of course, but just pointing it out. For example - if I pay someone more than they deserve (not fair) probably everyone would get suspicious (less trust).
There are a few technical issues I noticed:
- Does the portrait position indicate who is on the front line? If yes - it would be great to be able to modify it. In my situation the mage was at the front and was most frequently attacked. Which does not make sense to me because I also hired a heavy but his portrait was at the back.
- It's not clear how to use the convince action - I assumed that it would work the same way as the other special abilities...
- The payment tutorial screen should disappear if the Pay button is pressed
I'm a fan of tactical games so thank you. Good luck!
