How does the game fit the theme?
Bastard's Son is a narrative deduction game in which you have to figure out who your true heir is, while many of the characters appear to be liars and charlatans. There is a general sense that nobody is to be trusted.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We used public domain images of 16th century and renaissance portraits, as well as a few sounds from freesound.org

How many people worked on the game?

I thought I had found my heir, but instead I brought my kingdom to ruin! I had a lot of fun, especially because of the art style and the choice of characters. I really liked the POV and the gameplay idea. The comedic audio makes everything even more fun.

camera control didn't feel the best, probably don't even need it for this type of game. so I played through and, basically you ask a question to 8 characters, try to figure out the trustworthy one and off a couple you think are the bad ones each round? I felt like there was too much info before i was able to make an actual gameplay choice. So a little slow for me personally, but i understand just how limited the time we had for this was.
Good vibe, good setting. would be solid with more time spent on gameplay.

That is just a banger. 5/5 all around. Everything clicks together really well. I just have a small gripe with the controls since the camera locks in dialog and it’s a bit weird when control is given back to it. Other than that, I loved it. Congratz!

I was rubbish at this, took me six tries to get the true heir. Still a fun game though.

Some of the clues are a little obscure. At least you got to see a lot of the endings! Thanks for playing!

That was great. Those graphics! I lol-ed multiple times.

I think a tutorial or at least a list of controls/interactables would have been helpful, I discovered how to do certain things halfway through a run.

Regardless I didn't pick the rightful heir :(
