Love the commentary on this, as someone from a third-world country who's had its fair share of dictators and "Minitruths." Cool audio and music as well!
Cool game! I like the setting and mechanics. The only problem I had is that at first I really didn't understand which words I could redact and which I couldn't but I kind of figured it out.
good game , Ministry of Truth - today probably they called diffrently but id exist for sure - thanks for this submission
nice game :)
very interesting game. I like the feel, and i obviously like the audio
It really is a very interesting concept, and well executed at that !
I'm pretty impressed by this submission.
However, I couldn't manage to do anything for editing the messages and could only print them (playing in web export) and I feel like I missed a big chunk of the game, but it didn't look like anyone else had the same problems ? Did it depend on something other than selecting the tool and using the mouse on the text ?
You have three tools in the editor for modifying the text. Click by pencil on the phrases you don't like, and you'll see how it works.
Very sorry to hear about your problem
But I think I understand what kind of problem you are having
Unfortunately we didnt have much time left and were not able to implement the ability to redact the ENTIRE text
So as a player you can only redact certain banned words that change every day
For example if the banned word is "war" you need to find that exact word and click on it using either of the first two tools to redact it
That's why if you dont specifically click on one of the banned words, text won't change
And as a twist
Sometimes there are no ban words in text or there might be a ban word but not the one that you need to redact today
Oh alright, thank you very much !
I'll go back to playing the game when I have some time
the crt desktop is gorgeous, and loyalty pulling against credibility with a notebook of narratives youve already published to stay consistent with is proper design. ministry of truth is the perfect frame for this theme
Really enjoyed the concept ! Good work !
Although the game isn't for me, I can tell there was a lot of work put in and overall is just a great game. Nice work!
As someone who studies in a communication-related field, this is something I really appreciated. It's a nice commentary on news media and really made me reflect. Great job!
Very solid game with a lot of thought behind it.
The letters were a bit small so it was hard to read but the idea is very cool.
The music fits the atmosphere very well and the SFX were on point. I think it works well, stays in the background and doesn't take over too much from the reading process.
Nicely done
REALLY good game and very well written!
fun game! its a nice commentary about news
At the end, I got promoted.
And instead of celebrating, I honestly feel like I want to throw up.
I grew up reading about things like this in history books, and with everything happening around me now, there were moments playing this game where I had this awful feeling that we’re living history circle back around.
You hit the nail on the head with every detail: the way things escalate, the language that gets twisted, the things that get quietly changed or redacted. And most of all, the way each compromise feels small and justifiable for the increase of simple % score in the moment, until you look back and realize what you’ve done.
I really enjoyed the other aspects of the game too, but honestly, after finishing it, I feel like a shell of a human being. Which probably means you did something very, very right.
I wish I could praise the creators more eloquently right now, because this game affected me far more deeply than I expected it to. It’s uncomfortable, but in the best possible way, in a way that actually makes you think.
Thank you for making something that doesn’t just ask you to play a dystopia, but makes you feel complicit in it.
