How does the game fit the theme?
Our game has an emulation of the dark souls series' player written messages. These messages can be extremely helpful or misleading, depending if you trust them. A message could tell you where a hidden breakable wall is, or lead you down the completely wrong path.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

One of my favorite games so far. It captured the essences of both its inspirations well. The game had a sense of discovery, the puzzles were satisfying, and the boss was difficult and punished greed like a true souls boss.

Awesome, I don't have much time to play it, but I'll definitely come back to kill the boss.

The last boss was hard but I liked it. Had to do many tries but got finally. Some NES / retro type sounds could be nice if you have time to continue this after the jam. The magnet rod was really cool idea! Especially during combat . Texts on the ground were funny and helpful but like in Souls games I mostly just ignored them. But it was nice that they were not required to finish the game.

The concept behind this game is really cool! ...And I'm not saying that just because my game has a similar 'previous messages' sort of mechanic - we both had really different takes behind the idea!

Ultimately the dark-souls type messages culminate in either helpful information or text jokes with mechanical punchlines, and both results are fun to experience. I also thought that the polarity wand thing was a neat puzzley addition that added depth to the game beyond the main premise!

I was definitely missing sound while playing the game. I stuck some other music on in the background and it kind of helped but it's very noticeable.

The boss at the end is really cool to fight, though sometimes a little overwhelming! If it has spawned enemies into the room but then is also doing the eyes-flash deflect-or-you-get-hit attacks it feels unfairly difficult to keep track of and react to everything going on...

Yeah, I do really wish we could have added sound, probably my #1 regret with this project. I'm glad you liked the messages and the boss though! But yeah you die real quick if the enemies don't get taken out quickly and the attacks start overlapping. Maybe they should despawn when the boss does a different attack?

I like the art and the game play, however i got infinite health + sometimes you can get stuck in areas and because i couldn't die i had to restart from the beginning, otherwise fun game.

Thanks for playing! I believe those bugs should be fixed now, but do let me know if you encounter any more

Could use some sound, and I seemed to get a bug where I became invincible. Very nice art though, and cool puzzles

Thanks!
