Really liked the layout and how this seems to be ripped from the pages of an anthology magazine of yore. The color transition from bright red to wine red is also thematically appropriate. Excellent keying. The inspirations are well-implemented here as well. I think my one gripe is the black writing on the red background was hard to read for me.
Thank you for the kind words!
Yeah I agree (on the coloring). Next time I’ll be favoring usability. Wish I had another pass at it before the deadline!
A lush, gorgeous design delivered with a very clean and simple visual language. Enthralling. Loved the map, the pitch, everything. Very unexpected, even gonzo. Loved it
Thank you very much for the kind words!!
Perhaps it’s the style of the system and I’m missing some of the vocabulary, but I find the texts hard to follow, often a bit bumpy and combined with the wine and dance terms used some parts are hard to read. Also there a contradictions (“the Estate needs more visitors”, “the Estate is becoming overcrowded”).
This is clearly a work of love and it looks gorgeous. Yet the writing might need another editorial pass.
Yeah wholly agree!
Wish I started sooner in the period, but it is what it is. This was great learning experience for me. Better to put 75% finished work under the microscope than no work. I appreciate you giving it a look through, hopefully next time it’ll be better!
For me, this jam is a huge learning experience :)
Great art, layout, & colors throughout. I am especially fond of the hand-written scribbling all over the map, bestiary, etc… Very fun & charming!
Now, I am not at all familiar with Fatherfog whatsoever, but this module seems to be one of the deadliest I’ve seen so far! I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more Fog stuff in the future.
We talked some on Bluesky, but thanks again for giving this a read!
What a great entry. The portraits are stellar, and the use of notes overlaying the document is very well done. I would play this in a heartbeat.
I really like the layout of this adventure! The handwritten notes definitely add to the chaotic vibes of the dance. Great to see a Fatherfog adventure!
Thank you for the kind words! Excited for more Fatherfog content!
This was a fun read and grimly humourous, which fits! (Bonus points for pointing me to Fatherfog too) The setting is punchy, you could easily adapt it for other games, but it really fits the vibe; The writing is well executed and the layout is a real highlight, it is super professional looking.
There is a bit of weirdness with contrast between the text and the background, it is at times too harsh and others a bit hard to read, for example the nodes and paths on the map in black are a bit hard to read, I think slightly greyer text paired with the claret background of the last page would be a good balance for the main text.
Great work, I'm looking forward to running this!
Thank you for the read!
Definitely going to be more cognizant with my palette next time. I originally had all the pages as scarlet (like #FF2400) to go hand in hand with the title. My spouse walked in and looked at me like this:
This has been a great learning experience for me (and it could have been a lot worse!)
They layout is impeccable, and while I personally struggled with the red background, I found the overall design to be incredibly cool. I especially liked the little 'handwritten' notes all over the pages, they really add to the feel. Amazing!
Thank you for the kind words. It’s definitely not easy on the eye! Better color choices will be made in the future.
The converted-from-a-zine styling threw me for a loop, ngl. Still, fun to see a Clurichaun as a villain, and really great to see more Fatherfog content. I just played Into the Fog last weekend, and I'm hooked! I like the stylized font you've used here; is it official? It's great for Fatherfog.
Anyways, I hope to see you in the Fatherfog Jam!
Thank you for taking the time to look it over!
I hope to participate in the fatherfog jam. Loving that game so far.
Fonts: Captain Edward (shoutout Simple Bits), LT Remark, and whatever nonsense my hand spat out. I don’t believe CE is associated and I’m far too
scarednew at this to touch anything official.Great to see something for Father Fog! It's a cool concept too. Re: the bits that are crossed out, was this made for something else previously?
Yeah fatherfog wormed its way in and wouldn’t leave! Love it.
Crossed out bits: No. It is just a stylistic choice. Intent being: it was an old adventure I “found” and converted. I didn’t get take it to the extent I would have liked. Joined late. Tried to squeeze in what I could! I had a good time nonetheless.
Aaaah, I get it! Cool concept :)
Loved it. Fantastic vibes, funny writing, cool stuff to do. The imp names had me cracking up.
Wow thank you! I was trying to have fun with it.
I wanted to lean more into the this-is-something-someone-converted-for-friend but I didn’t have enough time to do it properly.
