Reminds me of those point and click games that were all the rage on Newgrounds back in the day. Pretty simple, but good! I especially like the music and sounds: For some reason the fireplace crackle particularly hit the spot.

Developer

Thank you! I did the sfx/music and I am so hype that you liked the fireplace lol

As funny as the fridge mini game is I feel like it kinda subtracts from all the work you guys put into building the atmosphere, it was cute but also kinda vibe kill at the same time lol. The ending was also a little bit confusing, it was hard to tell if it was a self-harm thing or something they did to someone else? Other than those two things it was really good. The art and ambience in particular were great!

Developer

thanks for the review, there were originally some more “minigames” planned and things like that the fridge minigame was going to be almost an intro to the concept type of thing but yeah agreed in retrospect it does kind of stick out a little bit lol. Thank you for playing and for the kind words!

The game did a good job of inducing a sense of paranoia and distrust :)

Developer

Thank you! I’m glad we got to deliver that feeling that’s exactly what we had in mind. Thank you for playing

Good job on the atmosphere and vibe.

I did find certain things a little confusing, the random fridge minigame, and the house layout had me a little lost at times.

Visuals and audio worked really well together to consistently maintain the unease and tension, good work on that.

As an aside, and this doesn't affect how I'm rating, but I think perhaps the game name is something to be a little careful about given the content. I am intimately acquainted with agoraphobia and it's clear to me this person has far greater issues going on, but to some it will come across as insensitive to relate a specific disorder to the symptoms of something more dangerous and harmful to other people as the ending seems to imply.

Developer

You're right, the name should have been given more consideration, although I think it's too late now to update the game. Thank you for the review!

I really enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere. The feeling of paranoia also worked for me and was on theme with the jam :) I sometimes got a little lost in the house but idk if that was just me being bad at remembering the doors or an intentional kind of confusion to feel as your lost in this turmoil etc.. either way super fun and great job!
