I really like how you used the "only 3 colours" limitation to convey light and darkness in the game. Great job!
Thanks for playing! I did mini jam right after b1t jam, so i had some color limitation practice before the jam :]
I loved it, great game! Nice concept; interesting one to invest more in: I think it would grow if there were some music and more sounds. (Personal, but a suggestion: I think I would play better if the game added the possibility to also move with the arrows and drop sticks with Shift.) Congrats!!!
Thank you for playing and for your feedback! I've been meaning to try implementing few sets of input keys, but for this jam there was just too little time to try. I'm glad you liked my little game! :)
Cute game! I liked the effect of going into the darkness and it was nice to see some enemy variety as you progressed. Well done!
Thanks so much for playing! :]
enjoyed the game loved the game palette
good arcade game with an interesting concept
there was a different game about keeping the campfire running it's interesting to see the two different takes
but my only complaint is not having a visual indication of range of attack a dotted circle around the character would have helped a lot but it was 72 hour game so its understandable
solid game enjoyed it
Thank you for playing, and for you feedback, I feel like attacks could've been improved in many ways if I had more time. I've seen several games based around a campfire and its been fun seeing all the different ideas people had with it!
Its so elegant and really smooth gameplay, I really liked how it plays. The game has a beautiful art, and 100% fit to limitation, because this 3 color palette really nice. I wish you polished a little attacks to bring more clarity about range of attacks - for example making outline on enemies, when they are in range (on the screen).
You did a great job!
And... this is my best record... I still dont know how, I think I've hit zen.
woah, more than 700 seconds... maybe i should add a leaderborad to the page))
So glad you liked it, and the suggestion about enemy attacks is great, i didn't even think about it when making it and it would've maybe felt more fair to the player.
...i didn't even know that you can make the light so big, i'm genuinely impressed wow.
Very fun to see another take on the 'keep campfire burning in the woods at night' idea, which our games share, yet having it be so different! It's a fun lil' arcade game, easy to lose a few minutes in. My highscore was 181 seconds :)
Thank you so much for playing, i'm so glad you liked it! I agree, it's fun seeing other games that are built around the idea of a campfire, and see how different they all are! :]
it was cool to see the reveal of the enemies in with the campfires light! great game with a solid concept. super clean :D
Thank you so much, designing the enemies and then deciding how to make them hide in the dark was fun! Im glad you liked it! :]
Love the art for this game. Works with the limitation perfectly. And while simple it feels super polished. Nicely done.
Thank you so much for playing, i'm glad you liked it! :]
The idea of having to keep a fire alive reminds me of the hundreds of hours I spent playing Don't Starve! I really like the simple but effective art direction
Great job ! 🔥
Thank you so much! Aslo ooh another Don't starve enthusiast! It's one of my favorite games, even though i kinda suck at surviving, heh) It's the highest compliment to me that my game reminded you of it!
iirc, don't starve actually came from a prototype where you protect a campfire and kill pigs that come to you from all sides, i only realised how similar my idea was to it after i started making it, and i think it's a fun little coincidence :]
