HI! I (Beth) forgot to get your email for approving the Ludum Praxi bundle, so I'm commenting here lol

Here's the link to approve the bundle --> 72-Hour Treasures

I'm not feeling great and wasn't very creative with a title. I can update the title if you have a suggestion! If so, reply. I'll pick my favorite if anyone suggests anything.

The jam is set to launch October 2nd at 3 am Pacific (midnight Eastern). Thanks to Itch updating how bundles work, I can "prune" people who don't approve at that time as long as the majority do. My plans for reaching out for approvals and pruning are:

  1. This email today (late on the 15th)
  2. I will then comment on Itch jam entry pages for those who haven't approved on the 23rd
  3. Anyone who still hasn't approved will receive one more email on the 28th
  4. I will then prune everyone who hasn't approved on the 2nd, early in the day, and begin promo of the bundle

On the off chance that we aren't getting enough approvals, I will make a new version of the bundle with only the people who have approved the bundle on the 23rd. But I haven't had to do that since Itch allowed people to be pruned.

The bundle then runs til the 19th. This will allow me three full weekends of promo (with the first weekend being the last weekend of our other fundraising bundle where we only included our own work). I was going to do two weeks, but this is running at the exact same time as our Unhoused Fundraising Co-Op bundle, so I'll be doing promo for both simultaneously, and both bundle pages link to one another. Hopefully that helps drive people here 🧡

If you don't know how to approve bundles, below are the basics.

How to Approve the Bundle

Approving an Itch bundle basically means you've looked over it and approve of being part of it. The major things to check when approving a bundle are:

  • What items are included. Not only your own, but overall, in case you see something in the bundle you refuse to associate with yourself. This shouldn't be the case here, but can be in bigger bundles.
  • The price. This is a PWYW bundle, meaning people can get it for free.
  • The dates. This bundle runs from October 2nd to the 19th at 3 am Eastern time (that's midnight Pacific). This allows for three full weekends of promo.
  • Who receives revenue, and how much. Most bundles are split equally, like this one: everyone gets 6.25%.

To see all of this information, you click the link for the bundle (you have to be signed in or it'll show a broken link), then there's a link along the purple-ish bar near the top of the page. That'll take you to a page with LOTS of info. You can look through it and verify everything, then if you approve, click the link at the bottom of the page.

If you do NOT agree with these things, PLEASE let me know ASAP. I can then remake the bundle without you and have the others approve the new bundle. There's zero pressure for you to take part if you change your mind or something.

I'm impressed by how much work you put into the prompts, and reading through them absolutely made me want to play!

Even just from reading, it feels like the first couple weeks will feel arduous and risky, which fits so well for playing someone trying to revive this old, uncared for inn. I look forward to seeing how the feeling changes in later weeks, and whether it remains just as stressful to draw a card that costs the player 1d6 patrons and coin.

Oh wow, this is amazing! A full, mechanically driven tabletop game with a tarot deck! You did an amazing job making each prompt feel exciting (or terrifying lol), and I absolutely got the feeling of running an inn, even as I read the rules and prompts. Very well done!

It's also wild, because I was talking about this game later and remembered the title included "forgotten" because of where you wrote that, like the title, the inn had been forgotten (neglected). Well done on that too lol I forget the names of my own games far too easily... 😅

For some quick edits: I noticed that, in the rules (I used the "Print Layout" version, I didn't check the other), where you've laid out the categories of improvements you said 5/10/15 points. But elsewhere, it sais 10/15/20 points (including in the other rules). You also said in the rules that costs per week double per season, but they go 2/4/6/8 per season.

This is such an interesting game! I like the concept/goal of improving the inn while having to deal with a variety of things (the town/tavern/rival and other events show the complexity - very close! - to what could actually happen in this situation) very much. Nice game, good work! 🔥🔥

A lot of number crunching in this one, and a lot of luck mitigation required, but it seems like it's at the point where it's winnable and the win feels deserved. Very evocative of the vicissitudes of running a service-focused business that lives and dies on word of mouth.

I really enjoyed the challenges that the player needs to complete during the game. I felt it was a more “focused” Broken Cask game with a clear loop that could be played in a few sessions. I might have enjoyed it more knowing I won’t be playing the same game forever. The layout was great and inclusion of spark tables was well appreciated.

Great work!

I am impressed by the amount of writing and complexity you achieved for the time limit of this jam. I worked in a hotel for 11 years so anything inn themed definitely catches my interest. You did a great job with the prompts and I really like that the upgrades do feel like a challenge to achieve while keeping the inn running. That wouldn’t be an easy task to juggle! I enjoyed reading through this and look forward to playing it when I get some time to do so.

This is brilliant :) The mechanics are very harmonious, every detail fits together wonderfully and the presentation is lovely. Even with such simple prompts , you've created a game where the Forgotten Queen will develop such a lot of personality so quickly, amazing work.

Wow! This game is jam packed with so much amazing detail. I love the concept of taking the traditional starting point for rpgs and making a whole game about it. This looks so neat. I can't wait to play and see if I can make it profitable.

I loved the idea of running an inn, so I was excited to play! I have to say he style and presentation are awesome. The font is sooo good. And wow! What a challenge, especially those first few weeks of gameplay. I got soft-locked with finances my first two attempts to start, but my third try I can't believe how lucky I was to get Judgement and then to roll a freaking 6! OMG game-changer!
I also wanted to say I loved the thoughtfulness you put into your mechanics and all the prompts! Thanks for submitting! <3
