Oh god, I've been waiting for YEARS for somebody to start working on GBA studio! I personally don't care if GenAI is used for placeholder art in the early/proof of concept stages, as long as it is meant to be replaced with real art later. I would be more skeptical if the code was GenAI, because I'm not sure it would be reliable in the long term.
I'll follow this project closely, I hope you'll get people to work with you on it! This projects needs a community!
Is a linux build planned in the future?

I'm happy to know that there are more people excited about this besides me. I've learned a lot throughout the development process.

The idea is to have a Linux version, but for that I need to create an environment for it, and there's still a lot to do, so for now I'll only develop on Windows until I have a good version! I hope to have more news soon!

I've finally understood that people were not expressing concern with AI in your project, but because your profile page and profile pic are AI art. I personally DGAF, as it is minor and can easily be changed for free-to-use human art (you should do it soon, so that people would stop giving you bad karma on your project page).  The only thing I fear if that if the project itself were vibe coded, the code would be difficult to maintain in the future because no human would have written nor read it, and nobody can guarantee that AI models aren't capable of putting malware lines in their code.

So, my main concerns about AI are maintaining the code and the security of the code.

I've also seen that there are quite a few other active GBA Studio projects on github. Wouldn't you guys benefit from uniting on that project, instead of all doing your own version of GBA Studio?

It was difficult for me at first too, but my profile picture is a Photoshop composition I created for a contest.

Regarding other projects: since 2024, I’ve been working on a new project—I even set up a page where I planned to host it—and I’m currently trying to get in touch to see about merging the projects.

Up until version 0.4.4, I had more control over the code, but as other projects progress, I need to speed this one up; so, my main focus now is delivering something that people can actually use!
