If he was wanting to rig his own vote, I feel like he’d do it in a less obvious way. Like he could’ve just added several hundred of his own votes instead of removing them and people would be less likely to catch on. I know thegeeb81’s math showed some discrepancies, but did I miss something where someone found actual proof? I’m not saying it’s impossible for him to have done that, but wouldn’t it be better to criticize him on the things we actually know about than to wait for an apology for something we don’t?

There's nothing that really definitively proves he rigged the votes but its still sketchy as all hell and has made the vast majority of us lose faith in them.

Once again using some sort of election as an example. Say you didn't need to eat, sleep, drink, use the bathroom, etc. just for the sake of this example.

You go to the election booth and vote for who/what you want to win. Then you proceed to sit there and watch them put the votes into a machine in order to count them. You then see them grab fistfuls of votes and put them into a paper shredder under the claim that they were "fake" while removing them from the overall score.

They decide to open up voting again (unrealistic but for the sake of the example just go with it). They claim that the "fake" votes last time were because people could fill out multiple forms and vote for the same person and that the machine wouldn't detect it. But for some reason they don't check if you filled out multiple forms, their excuse for not checking is completely random and ultimately irrelevant to the overall voting process. You then proceed to see them grab random amounts of votes at random intervals and trash/remove them.

The voting closes for good this time and somehow the candidate that everyone vocally expressed hatred for wins.

Wouldn't that make you lose trust in the entire voting process? The people in charge of the vote (Arc) literally identified the problem causing "fake" votes, yet refused to remove it simply because "some people use VPNs." His 3 votes per IP address restriction should've already enabled those people to use things like Incognito or some other browser/feature that doesn't track what you do (some of them still do, some don't) in order to vote. Banning VPNs probably would've cost a few votes from people in countries where this type of stuff is completely illegal but it would've ultimately increased the overall security of the voting process and thus made it more trustworthy.

The point is, those votes should be untouchable. Seeing the only guy with the key to the ballot box, literally burning the ballots, does not inspire confidence that the voting is actually fair.

Then at the same time some people are probably accusing him of rigging it due to them feeling abandoned or betrayed, others because they genuinely think he rigged the vote.

However, his complete and total silence from every single site EXCEPT Discord does NOTHING to help his case. Especially by refusing to acknowledge itch io as it is the MAIN SITE that hosts his game and the MAIN SITE that (almost) everyone here learned about it and played it from. If he was more active and had a more solid defense then he'd be getting a decent bit less hate. But as it stands, the only way to get any form of response is in his personal Discord server. Which he can freely ban you from if he doesn't like hearing whatever you have to say.

Is he really rigging the vote? Who the fuck knows. Only Arc himself knows and maybe a friend or two he DMed it to (if he even did such a thing). So we won't know until he comes out and outright says it or (if he sent evidence of him rigging it to someone) his friends leaking the DMs.

That also doesn't excuse a few of the other things he's been doing such as splitting people who don't want the nose into 2 separate votes (AI generated, and as close to the OG before the remake being the only "no I don't want the nose" options), claiming an art style is hand-drawn when it looks 100% like something an AI would generate, and using biased wording that sways people's votes in a certain direction ("Open the steam door," "blends into the crowd.")

the rigging part i understand and if it turns out to be wrong then i'll admit i made a mistake . i'm not demanding an apology , but rather an explanation and on THIS SITE and not on discord .

but the rest of things like :

-separating those against nosey in the first vote into two crowds to make them seem like nosey is not that hated .

-not responding to the main crowd supporting the game (itch) and only being active in discord where he can ban anyone who calls him out or criticizes him .

as i said , if the vote turns out to not be rigged i'll admit my mistake and apologies . but seeing comfy go from 49% in the two first days of the vote , then go down to 45% while original went up from 35% to 42% in a day is just ridiculous . and what was the nail in the coffin for me was around two days before the vote ended where comfy was at 46% and original was at 42% , only for me to go to sleep , wake up the next morning and find comfy at 30% and original at around 45% , which again , was OVERNIGHT (i don't exactly remember how much original went up but it definitely was near that) , then i knew some nonsense was happening .

i know i shouldn't be quick to judge , but with the other two things (the separating and not responding , as well as using buzzwords to pursway into voting for anything that isn't comfortable or comfy) also happening made me firmly believe that it was rigged . i'm not saying it definitely/100% is , but unless Arc explains himself that's my final verdict and i'll keep calling him out on that until he responds with an actual explanation .

Arc won't come to this site... he's only interested in people that agree with him. Sycophants. I would not be surprised if a few comments disappeared at this point... maybe even the whole section. 'I was making a new page anyway... whoops!'

To fully understand why so many folks were angry, you'd have to read the SubscribeStar posts... the new style was overwhelmingly reviled. Only the new players were like "sure, ok"--
... but NOBODY liked the nose. LOL. That's why the suspicion ran so high in the first place.
