Each upgrade of the Barrack consumes food as well on top of wood and gold, the UI isn't clear however, I could improve it
you could have your food go down to 0 as you use it, instead of going up. So 9/9 shows that you have 9 out of 9 food, instead of desplaying that you have used 9 out of 9 food.
