Title - Great guitar tone! Keyboard triplets feel a bit wonky at times.
Harpies - Heavy! Could use a bit more grit on the bass. Guitar riffs are cool, but its not always locked in with drums. Think it needs a bit more bridge pickup sound, and a bit of eq to remove some muddiness in the mids. Lead can come through the mix a bit more.
Random encounter - guitar tone works alot better here. Bass and drums still sounds a bit dry and lifeless, especially the snare.
Ever tried MT power drum kit? Makes a great sound for this kind of thing, especially if you know how to use velocities.
Yeah, I've used MT Power Kit, EZ Drummer, and the boss theme was using Steven Slate Drums 5.
The guitar for the boss music is a 7 string with a busted pickup, that is the bridge one. It just sounds muddy as hell and that's after cranking the highs and mids.
Thanks heaps for the feedback!
Great title track! The opening piano chords, and as the music builds, definitely evoke the 2000s Square Enix sound. That said, the music sounds "safe" and would benefit from more risk-taking. It really gets interesting when the guitar comes in, because it's adding newness.
The mix on every song is really great, I do wish there was some story to go along with everything to have some context about the songs but cool submission regardless :)
If the most peaceful character in the game starts committing war crimes, this is the kind of music that plays (aside from the main theme). Cool lo-fi hard rock.
The first track really does a good job of feeling like a title track with the soft rock angle you have.
Big fan of the energy used in the battle track as well. Love me some high energy music with catchy hooks and melodies.
I kind of with the boss music had a bit more of the normal battle music energy. It is more emotional and heavy which is good for boss music, but it doesn't quite hit that battle feeling the normal battle track did for me.
It's still a really solid entry, good work!
The piano worked surprising well on the 3rd track, I pictured a big fat tanky slowly moving boss !
I'm impressed by the quality of your guitar recording ! (I thought it was a vst at first ^^). Wonder how you do this, I still want to be able to produce that kind of sound !
Overall fun soundtrack for a classic jrpg in forgotten worlds :D
Thanks for sharing !
Ps : also, If you have time and will to put a link to any streaming service it makes it more engaging for people to listen to your songs (instead of having to download each track etc..)
Hey thanks so much for listening!
Thanks for the advice, I've added a link to my BandCamp (https://tamachan87.bandcamp.com/album/forgotten-world)
The guitar is myself playing, but using a VST for amp simulation (Amp Locker, simulating a 5150 head running into an Orange cab). You can get their free amp Deimos and a pack of IRs which will make this sound, it's good fun finding the right combo you like.
Hey ! Thanks for the tip, going to check this out :)
