You don't have to have studied music theory in order to know it. Sometimes you just naturally pick it up and use the concepts yourself, without even knowing it. This all feels so coherent and intentional, as if you've studied theory for years —only, you've got the rare ability to sometimes tastefully ignore the conventions and rules usually spelled out throughout theory study.
