Description
Composed for an imagined underwater horror/exploration game: a city is swallowed when an iceberg collapse turns a mountain valley into a lake. The protagonist, away when it happened, returns believing his family may still be alive in a bunker beneath the flooded town, and dives down to find them.
Cover art includes a scuba diver vector by ahmed md kawsar via Vecteezy.
Entire project was recorded, mixed, mastered on Bitwig (Linux) with only stock plugins.
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
The track follows that descent, starting sparse and tense at the surface, growing heavier and more dissonant the deeper it goes, which i think fits my own theme and the text theme "songs of a forgotten world" nicely.

The soundtrack gives off such an unique vibe, really creative idea and it fits the game concept extremely well! I like how intense the last section is and it fades out perfectly.
Thank you so much mate, I'm happy you enjoyed it.
Creepy atmosphere, very tense when the Bass comes in. I like how the synths sound very wobbly like they're distorted by refractions through running water. Would be cool to see how this could be incorporated into the theme more strongly, maybe the ghosts of the inhabitants are singing to the player, luring them in like a siren.
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you liked it. "Ghosts of the inhabitants luring the player in" sounds like a much cooler concept, but unfortunately i didn't think that far and this was just meant to be the track that plays as you approach the city and go further down, the deeper you go the more tense and dissonant the sound get.
I enjoy a long buildup, the different sections could definitely be used in a game to add intensity depending on what's happening, or as you get deeper in this case. And for that, the individual sections may play for as long as needed, and if they set the right mood (I think they do) and adds to the atmosphere to the game, they're doing their job well! But for the sake of listening experience in a released OST, being a little shorter probably wouldn't hurt though, no. :) Also I really like the drums!
Thank you mate, I was thinking the same thing, different sections can be used in different parts of the game but for the sake of listening as a sound track, a shorter version would have been much nicer.
Really enjoy how you set up the mood here! I actually like the long first section, I feel like the buildup really suits the genre. The dark main melodic line sets up the horror mood, and then twinkles and vocals make it feel like an underwater exploration.
Thank you, Glad you like it.
Good track! I liked how you created tension and an uneasy feeling with the song, and the instruments help with that.
I think that some changes between certain parts are too sudden, for example at 3:12. But overall it’s pretty good. ^^
Thanks a lot man, appreciate the feed back.
Oooh I dig the darker twist you put on this theme. I enjoyed hearing all the different sounds and synths you used throughout this track. I also like the use of a more unconventional time signature when the drumkit comes in (5/4 I think?), kinda helps with the uneasiness of the whole situation. Nice submission!
Thanks a lot mate!! i appreciate it. And also thanks for noticing the time shift.
I enjoy the way the tone shifts multiple times throughout the song. I think the first 2 sections last a little too long though and begin getting repetitive before the shift.
The dissonance at the end was cool though and it didn't overstay itself.
Thanks for the feed back mate and i do agree it does get a bit repetitive. I was personally thinking of shortening the first half myself.
