Description
Spirit of the Wild is an atmospheric exploration adventure set across a world of floating islands, each containing different landscapes, biomes and ecosystems that once thrived. The player takes the role of a harpy, leaping and gliding across the lands and ruins of these islands.
Over time, when enough creatures die, fragments of their memories gather to form Wild Spirits. By finding and interacting with them, the player can enter dreamlike memories of different areas across the islands, experiencing them during the height (or not) of their biodiversity and civilisation.
The more Wild Spirits that are gathered (these guys will follow you everywhere), the more detailed the lost memories become, allowing more areas to be explored and secrets to be uncovered.
---
1. Song of a Forgotten World — The main theme, with more orchestral elements and representing the harpy’s flight, freedom and the discovery of the vast floating islands.
2. Meet the Spirits — A playful theme for the moment when the player first interacts with the Wild Spirits.
3. Overgrown Settlements — A theme for an abandoned village, one of the areas on a lush forest island. More vibrant sections indicating more memories being restored.

Message from the artist
First time trying to come up with a whole concept of an imaginery game and make multiple coherent tracks for it. Although I still have a lot to learn about the basics of composing, I really enjoyed the process and I hope you like them!

The spirits on the cover are from the game Death's Door
Theme

How does it fit the theme?
The main theme is inspired by the harpies in the theme artwork, representing their sense of exploration and the freedom of flight. Its grander orchestral elements also depict the scale of the forgotten worlds waiting to be discovered. Meet the Spirits gives the player a joyful and surprising moment as the wild Spirits dance around them, letting the player know that the islands are not completely forgotten. Overgrown Settlements represents one of the playable areas and alternates between mystical forest and medieval town vibe. It reflects the gameplay as the player gradually uncovers the lost memories of the area, revealing how vibrant the village once was before becoming remnants hidden deep within the forest.

Finally got round to it!
The whole soundtrack is really fun and bouncy. The orchestration is great, and each track is full of cool ideas. I like the counter point and the layering of different instruments but it can turn into a wall of different melodies sometimes that dont really agree harmonically and it weakens the core idea. Sometimes it feels like you're afraid to let the melodies breathe and the notes/intervals can feel a bit sporadic and unnatural. A good test is to try to sing the melody. If it feels natural to sing, it will feel natural to listen and follow. All pitched music originates from the voice so our ears like easily singable patterns, like scales and arpeggios, and room to breathe! I find it hard to come up with strong melodies at an instrument so I tend to come up with them in my head/sing it, then transcribe it to an instrument. That being said, i thought overgrown settlement did this pretty well.
Overall a really pleasing, upbeat, feel good series of compositions!
A super fun and whimsical soundtrack! I especially liked the personality and vibe of Meet the Spirits. Having the track be a more playful 3/4 waltzy feel makes so much sense to me as a meeting theme for these little guys. Great submission!
I love this! It sounds fun and it sounds like you had fun creating it! Great job!
Your soundtrack sound very good I love it. :>
Love the cheerful and lively atmosphere of the first two tracks, but I love the harp in the third track the most! It brings a mysterious vibe to the song and works well with other instruments.
Nice work!
OMG! This is cute!
I really enjoy the vibes and cohesiveness between the tracks. My favorite is Song of a Forgotten World because it presents your world idea and sets expectations correctly for the following tracks.
i personally liked the second track the most, especially due to the instrumentation. it gives off stardew valley and slime rancher vibes imo idk
also you too are a garageband producer 🥹 garageband is amazing and underrated bruh. i might upgrade to logic though
I really like the concept of your game. The first track traduces freedom energy and excitement at the same time, great theming there
I preferred the first track composition wise, but in term of global sound I preferred the other two, I don't know what exactely makes it like this.. the orchestration maybe ? The theme is great though !
Anyway I feel like you have a strenght in musical story telling and that's a big bonus :)
