Finally got round to it!
The whole soundtrack is really fun and bouncy. The orchestration is great, and each track is full of cool ideas. I like the counter point and the layering of different instruments but it can turn into a wall of different melodies sometimes that dont really agree harmonically and it weakens the core idea. Sometimes it feels like you're afraid to let the melodies breathe and the notes/intervals can feel a bit sporadic and unnatural. A good test is to try to sing the melody. If it feels natural to sing, it will feel natural to listen and follow. All pitched music originates from the voice so our ears like easily singable patterns, like scales and arpeggios, and room to breathe! I find it hard to come up with strong melodies at an instrument so I tend to come up with them in my head/sing it, then transcribe it to an instrument. That being said, i thought overgrown settlement did this pretty well.
Overall a really pleasing, upbeat, feel good series of compositions!
