Description
"Guided by Winds" was made based on an idea I had right after reading the theme, and especially after seeing the theme's picture. Basically, it's an action & adventure game with RPG elements and a deeper lore telling what's going on in this universe.
The player is set in an unknown world, where even if things do have some similarities to the player's world, everything is kind of merged in terms of elements, space and time. However, it is merged in an organized way, making it possible to have towns, villages and, first and foremost, people.
The royal family of the capital is composed of hybrids of humans and birds, where one of the members has gone missing. Some wondered if he was dead, while others thought he was simply missing, but it was worse than that. "The Pure" is a self-named entity that corrupts whatever and whoever comes into contact with it, affecting the memories of those who are being corrupted.
The Pure's power is corrupting the royal family member, and as the player, you have to face The Pure face-to-face in order to prevent this world from becoming forgotten.
The soundtrack varies a little bit in genre, since one of my ideas was to use a wider variety of instruments, with very different sounds and functions. Overall, it's a merge between symphonic and rock/metal, though! All of the tracks were made in FL Studio 2026.
For all of them, I wanted to capture some kind of idea/feeling, imagining how my mental visualization of the game would sound like during different moments of the game:
• "Trials of Remembering" makes a synthesis of the whole journey as the title/main menu theme;
• "Those Fields" captures the softness and relaxing feeling of exploring the first area;
• "The Feathers" gives personality to a trio of musicians who are members of the royal family (based directly on the picture's characters);
• "The Pure" tensions the mood, acting as the final boss theme, where it all ends!
Message from the artist
My past week was surrounded by different compositions, creating a bunch of melodies and finding the right chords that would sound good with what I was humming all day long, in the university, taking showers, right before sleep or just sit in front of my DAW, and oh my god guys, this has been such an amazing experience!
Not a long time ago I decided that I had to focus on my music skills once again, it's being my favorite thing of all I do (including game development, pixel art and more), actually I want to become a game composer and making a living out of it, simply because I believe that if there's one single element that the player takes from the experience of playing a game after months or even years, that thing is the music, and this Jam was a great opportunity of practice what I study since 2022!
What I have to say is, thank you so much for this excelent opportunity! I congratulate y'all to having such a great event, community and obviously, passion with art!
Theme

How does it fit the theme?
My submission fits both the themes because the concept of the game I structured before composing correlates with them. Forgotten World is a possible state of the universe I've created in the game concept that as the player, you need to avoid. The image also fits the music I wrote in terms of select of instruments, mood, ambient and feeling.

Love the diveristy in your sound and tracks! It really takes me to so many places in your game. I especially love the unexpected heavy section in the Trials of Remembering, I think you could mix in more of such unexpected sections in your other tracks to make them even more engaging! Thanks for sharing!
I think the Pure was my favorite of the tracks because of how the rhythm felt like it was half a beat too early making it more intimidating and unsettling. I enjoy faster songs more and that was the fastest and most involved.
Some of the earlier songs felt a tad repetitive at times with the ocarina sounds. I liked when you would shake it up at times, but I think it could have gone further to make each song evolve more than they did.
That's just a minor nitpick though since overall it's a very nice OST.
I really liked your final track, the pure, the guitar and rhythmic work are great! (as a metal fan)
Heyy, I really appreciate it, thank youu! As a metal fan I couldn't avoid to make some heavy tune like The Pure 😅
This is the first soundtrack I'm rating, and it starts off strong!
Great tracks, whether it's the calmer piano tracks, very pretty, or when it gets more metal and intense; everything works really well together.
I love the intense interlude in the middle of the first track; it really sets the tone!
I was wondering, what acoustic guitar plugin do you use for the track “The Feathers,” if you don’t mind me asking?
Hey there, good to see that you've enjoyed it, thank you so much for the comment! The plugin I've used is called Ample Guitar M Lite, which is free by the way!
You're wecolme! And thanks!
pretty cool concept for a game with a pretty banger ost to boot! especially love the sudden switch to a much heavier/darker section in the first track only to go back to normal like nothing ever happened 😂 the finale was pretty sick!!! my only notes are that i think adding a guitar solo in these tracks (especially the finale) would make the track sound even more epic rather than having only the strings carry the melody! Rhythm guitars could use a bit more compression too imo to accentuate that heaviness in an ost of this genre! Other than that awesome work!!!!
Oh hey Carrot, thank you so much for your feedback, glad to see you've enjoyed the tracks! I gave them a second listen after reading your comment, and yeah I agree with your points there, especially in the compression aspect, it would definitely turn up the energy I was looking for in The Pure. Again, thank you so much!!
The combination of orchestral and rock/metal is perfect, especially loved the tension of the 4th track The Pure, as I'm a huge metal fan. Great job!
Oh heyy, thank you so much for your comment here! It's great to see that you've enjoyed the songs S2!
