Description
The soundtrack has an eerie, electronic-rock vibe, with a touch of melancholy.

You could imagine a game about exploring an ancient, ruined, and forgotten world, and uncovering its past and the wandering souls (hostile or not) that still inhabit it.

I used Reaper to compose the six tracks.

The tracks represent, in order, the start of the game, exploring an area, encountering a boss, a dive into the past, reaching the final area, and a final revelation.

Message from the artist
It was really fun to participate, and I'm really proud I was able to finish this little EP. I hope you enjoy listening to it!

Theme

Songs of a Forgotten World

How does it fit the theme?
The "Forgotten World" is a place you can explore, where you uncover its past. All that remains of this vanished world is the echo of a song.

Liked these guitar tracks a lot! I think I like Whirlwind of Visions the most, especially once it gets to that mix of EDM.

Thank you!!

I'm getting badass vibes of hunting down demons and monsters in a way haha. The soundscape is nice, especially with the synthesizers, drums, glockenspiel, and vocal textures. I think you could have done more countermelody writing with the vocals to make it sound more haunting. I like the harmonic minor sound you have going on, and I even hear some flat 5s sometimes. The tracks do start to meld together in that the groove feels too similar, with not as much variety. I would like to hear maybe more contrasting sections that are more soundscapey or different instrumentally (maybe a vocal choir section), to break up the guitar and drum grooves. Overall, good job!

Thanks for listening, and thanks for your feedback!
I'll take all of that into account, thanks for taking the time to give me advices! And I'm glad you enjoyed it overall

I liked all tracks, they sound like a mythical DMC. Idk, why

Developer

Haha, thanks a lot!

First impression was really nice, great presentation! I really liked the vocals in the beginning and I wish they were featured more throughout the tracks. I also feel like the quality dipped slightly after the vocals cut out. Specifically the drums kind of through me off. Idk if you resample for drums but if you would like a suggestion for some life like drums try out SSD5 Free drummer, I think it'd fit your style. Other than that I really liked the vibe of the guitars and the composition was great, definitely conveys the eerie, electronic rock vibe. Great submission!

Developer

Hey, thanks for your feedback! I used MT Power Drum Kit, but I'll definitely try out what you suggested, thanks!
Thank you for listening, and I'm glad you liked it overall!

This is really cool! I love the mix of the chorus and classical instruments with an electronic rock/metal sorta sound (listen to pure reason revolution's the dark third if you haven't already). My favorite is definitely Facing the Sealed Gates with that violin sound in there and the tension, so cool and eerie.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked it!

Oh, I hadn't heard of it before, but I listened to it this morning; it's really cool! I see why you brought it up!

Facing the Sealed Gates was the first track I composed, and it really set the tone for the rest of the soundtrack.

This submissions has a lot of personnality !!!! I can really picture the game. Some tracks remembered me of JRPG like Xenoblade chronicles (a lot of end game tracks fuse Rock/Metal/Electronic with choirs and fantasy music) in a really good way ! The cover art is gorgeous.

Amazing work, so so so cool, I’d say it feels much more mysterious than melancholic, but that’s not a complaint, it’s still spectacular.

"Facing the sealed Gates" sounds really great, so eerie and dark.
"This City is full of Ghost" is my favorite overall.

"The Towers were Fingers" sounds more alien, I guess that's the idea of being the big revelation theme, wondering what could it be. ((Make this a real game, that will be awesome))

Hey, thank you so much! Your comment really makes me happy; I'm glad you liked the soundtrack!

This was just a really good OST. There were no real flaws I heard anywhere. It isn't my style really but it was kind of relaxing as a whole to me.

Super solid entry. I would say that I would have liked more details about each track in your description beyond just the simple "where they would play"

Developer

Thanks!

I was thinking the title and a minimalist description would leave room for the imagination, but I totally understand what you're saying!

this ost is  very unique!! i really like how you mixed those two genres together

Whirlwind of Visions is my fav track from this, that one synth is sooo good

Developer

Thank you!! I'm very happy you liked it!

And I love hearing people's favorite tracks. It's never the same; it's great that different people connected with different tracks!

really unique submission!!! the vocals are a really welcome addition to these tracks. this has been composed really thoughtfully, and while some melodic lines are a bit simpler, this is a good thing for this submission - keeping the intensity while staying gritty and not giving too much. loving the metal instrumentation working in combination with orchestral instruments as well! especially for such a full submission, you've done great! well done!!!!

Thank you so much! I'm really happy to read all this, and I'm glad you liked the vibe!

Your music would fit particularly well in a game, I can easily imagine the gameplay and the overall experience. The guitar work is also great, and the vocal intro adds a refreshing touch!

Developer

Hey, thank a lot!
I'm glad  it was vivid enough for you to imagine all of that.

And I'm happy to hear you say that about the intro track; it's the one I was most unsure about!

Nice work! Great vibe and I really enjoyed the grittier take on the theme, and the cohesion in character along with the cover art works really well.

Developer

Thanks a lot!! Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Great job! Really enjoyed this more rocky vibe in the music! The textures are great and everything blends really well.

Thank you very much!!

huge fan of both the ost AND the art cover (the design is SO COOL!!!!!) really love how trippy??? psychedelic of a vibe this whole album has especially with the synth work on the last two tracks with how atmospheric it was. fantastic work!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, that makes me so happy to hear, for the soundtrack, and the cover art!!

Submitted

wow! moody and funky and beautiful and surprising at every turn. this is fantastic.

Developer

Thank you so much! I love mixing funky beats with a moodier, more anxious vibe; I'm glad you picked up on that and appreciated the choice!

Submitted

Damn this is delightful! Love the funky basslines especially.

Favourite track: This City is Full of Ghosts

Developer

Thanks!! Hehe, it's my favorite, too.

This fucks on so many inconceivable levels. The tone of the guitar, the way the bass pulls you along for an aggresively phsychadellic ride, it's incredible. If I took acid, this would be the soundtrack to my descend into bliss-riddled madness.

Developer(+2)

Haha, thanks! What a comment!
I'm really glad you liked it, and that it was so evocative in terms of imagery! Thank you again so much!
