While the entire soundtrack is well written and effective at conveying the emotion and energy of their intended scenes, the stand out tracks for me were A World of Old and Human Township. I would say that Moment of Respite and Take Stock are in the similar “subgenre” as Human Township, but what I really like about Human Township is how interesting and winding the melody and chord progression are, allowing you to slip in and out of Mixolydian mode tastefully. A World of Old has really strong composition and orchestration, and the lute part plays a huge role in what makes the track stand out. I also like the distinct sections, where the B section breaks and builds back to the A again, but crescendoing to finish this time. It’s worth noting that A World Renewed can sound “beachy” or “islandy”, and I think it’s the specific combination of certain instruments, short articulations, and syncopation at that tempo that create that vibe—not necessarily a negative, but useful to consider. Overall, I enjoyed reading the story, especially with the initial emotional conflict that centers upon these three separated sisters.
This soundtrack fits the jam’s theme perfectly, stays cohesive through instrumentation and instrument association, and has exceptional storytelling. Great work! Also, you’re a saint (an angel, really) for what you’re doing, going through all the submissions, so I appreciate you for that
