I'd like to begin by saying I absolutely LOVE your composition. Your usage of every instruments feels tailored towards the specific story the titles tell and the melody and harmony is absolutely pleasing to listen to. The piano with the filter in the intro song (or is it an E-Piano?) really sets the whole location of where the story takes place and the vibe of it. I don't know if my ears are deceiving me, but i think the piano in the intro are slightly detuned? And then it was just detuned to hell at the end. Sort of gives me the creeps honestly, kinda makes me feel the vibes kf an alzheimers patient forgetting and forgetting and suddenly they forget how to live type shi. ALSO! I love the fact that it like, starts with forgetting, and then at an all time low starts to build up with the second track giving a sort of "wandering aimlessly" then castle chaser gives a "wandering with purpose" and finally giving, well, an ending to that purpose with a bang. Absolutely love that not only each songs' dynamics were never the same, but also the whole soundtrack, as in each song, has different dynamic feel to it! I feel the storytelling, even if up to interpretation, has a clear direction with how it was composed and structured!
thank you so much for kind words🥹 and yeah it’s e piano, filtered and detuned in places by like 3-5 cents and really strongly at the start and the end
Love the filter on the first track!
Favourite track: Forgeting a world
I liked Castle chaser quite a bit. It reminded me of something but I couldn't put my finger on it.
The final song however was WAY too loud by comparison to all the other songs. I had to lower the volume to half and even then it was so much louder than the other ones.
It was great! I really liked the overall vibe, and the way each track gradually builds in intensity, leading up to the metal climax at the end: a very interesting progression and journey!
This ost is incredible melody-wise, as your works usually are.
Forgetting a world - such a rich and complicated melody hiding behind a radio frequency filter. I imagine it being representative of gradually forgetting something so bright, something that seemed unforgettable back then. And the last note just hanging on and descending in tone slightly is a perfect ending to that representation - you can't remember the rest of that wonderful melody anymore.
Orbit - has some desolate cosmic vibe to it due to reverberation, and again, a complex and beautiful melody, but this time more wide, unfiltered, like it's not the past anymore, but the present. Yet it's still melancholic, in a way that you're... Bored? Like, you're orbiting a planet while something is happening on it, but you're not a part of it.
Castle Chaser - got to listen to it before the jam, gives off hk vibes. And overall it's obviously tense, but not too tense, even a bit light-hearted, I imagine this being like "finally something interesting's happening!" type stuff. And HOLY TRIPLETS ON THE PIANO!!!!
Finaly - Finaly. The buildup towards the drop is just majestic, and the drop is POWERFUL. The guitar could have a bit more mixing tho, but I know this one was very rushed. And I won't stop saying this, the melody is SO GOOD GOD DAMN
Overall - what peak is blessing my ears holy crap. Might be one of the most melodic submissions I've heard yet, since the most of them focused more on sound design. And the story is, well, almost absent, but the idea itself is very cool. You cooked as always bro :3
thank you so much for kind words and detailed feedback
Love you man<3
This is a really nice submission! I enjoyed the ambience of them and my favorite one was probably castle chaser because of the amazing strings and the string stacctos which really drive the piece forwards. The Finaly did feel a bit too disjointes from the other 3 pieces because of its instrumentation and the dynamics, but other than that, great submission!
wow!!! your composition of this submission is something you clearly put a lot of work into. the first track, while simple in timbre, is VERY impressive and complicated. i could listen to it all day!!! i wish the other tracks had the same sort of complexity as the first though, and mixing could add a lot to that! otherwise, i like your intention behind this submission and that first solo track is SOO well done. great work!!!
I remember listening to this on discord, impressive stuff. The first song seems simplistic but is actually quite complicated when you look into it, and that can be applied to the soundtrack as a whole. (except the last one, that one's bonkers lol) A lot it reminds me of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The biggest feeling I got from this soundtrack at first was FOMO, honestly. A strange melancholy, not because something terrible happened to you, but because you feel like you're missing out on something great that others saw before you. This was really well captured in the second track I believe
The third track was pretty good, although the limitation behind the instruments used was somewhat felt, especially the solo violin.
The final track was pretty surprising. Although it was also pretty good, I did feel like it was a bit too sudden of a jump in style compared to the others, the electric guitar doesn't do it for me when we consider the context implied by the last 3 tracks. The ambiguity of the description does leave a lot to the imagination, however, so I'm assuming you had a good reason for going this way. I imagined a fight of cosmic proportion with an eldritch force.
I thought this was a pretty alright album. You obviously have good compositional skills, but I would recommend investing in some higher quality instruments. Do you have an explanation for why you chose the title "Finaly"? It made me curious. My best guess is that it's a mix of "Finale" and "Finally", as in, the end of a universe that you've been looking forward to.
Cheers!
Dude thank you for such a detailed feedback:D
i so dont wanna be honest about it but i made all the lore details like last 30 minutes._., to leave it to imagination, not just the listener’s but more so mine.
i guess it’s kinda about the universe having a dementia and finally meaning like tge approaching end of it(i just noticed i misspelled it😭
Honestly, coming up with an idea like this in 30 minutes is still really good! Sometimes spontaneous decisions like that can lead you down the wildest paths. Leaving it to your own imagination is also good! You made the art for you, after all!
Hopefully you participate next year as well.
this truly was.... a finaly.
