Toast Master – free browser playtest: feedback on controls and difficulty

Hi, I’ve just put my second browser game, Toast Master, online for playtesting.

It’s an early version and I’m looking for honest feedback on the controls, difficulty and overall gameplay.

I’d especially like to know:

  • Was it easy to understand what to do?
  • Did the controls feel responsive?
  • Was the difficulty fair?
  • Did anything confuse you or stop working?
  • What did you enjoy most?
  • What would you change?

You can play it here: https://crocone.itch.io/toast-master-playtest

Thanks for testing it. Any feedback is appreciated. — CrocOne

The six questions cover the right areas, but one timestamp can make the feedback much more actionable: ‘At what exact moment did you first hesitate, and what did you expect to happen?’ That usually separates a control problem from a difficulty problem without asking the tester to diagnose the design.

I tried it for a few minutes. The core objective is easy to understand quickly, which is a good start. I’d focus most on how responsive the controls feel under pressure and whether the difficulty ramps smoothly instead of suddenly. If there’s one moment where players start missing inputs or blaming the controls instead of themselves, that’s probably the point to tune first.
