Ah, what could be more Uplifting than hitting strangers with a stick until they submit to do my twisted bidding.
But yeah, this is real nice. Cute graphics and music, satisfying interaction, I had fun here.

i think that it's a pretty idea and i enjoyed playing this game, maybe just the thing i would have changed is the fact that i can't pass trough the chest or that the game don't think about a way more "intelligent" to go where you want to go avoiding the chest. btw i really liked it!

I was soooo looking forward to play this game and glad it turned out to be such a satisfying loop!
The overall vector graphics work nicely. The stun mechanics were cool too! Thankfully, you allowed continuous casting rather than making player click the mouse button several times!
The music is pretty awesome.
When I first opened the game, the initial text was clear that I needed to convert the pirates into defenders. What Initially, I did not know how many times I needed to cast the magic to convert them. The progress bar at the top of each pirate would be even better.

An interesting game—straightforward and easy to understand. Decent graphics, except for the AI-generated cover art.
Thanks for playing. we had no AI generated art in this game but we did use a lot of assets on craftpix . Cover art as well as island design (and boats) was done by MrSpirit. https://mr-spirit.itch.io/. Information in description of game :D
Thank you for this game - it's a playful take on combat.
I'm curious how you did the animations... The predominant animation file present in Craftpix is the output of Brash Monkey (.scml) which I'm not using. So I ended up with a combination of PNG sequences and bone animation (when conversion to the tool I'm using worked properly)...
By the way - it's a different style (4 directions) but if you like pirates then maybe you will find this asset pack interesting: https://craftpix.net/freebies/free-fantasy-rpg-pirate-boss-character-pack/ It was released a few days ago (during the jam time)!
I'm guessing that even though the magic wand is a ranged weapon the range is small in order to make the game more challenging? And also the chest is an obstacle - again to increase the challenge?
Honestly it just looked graphically better when the fairy had to go around the chest. The animations were included in the craftpix download. The magic wand is close melee range but you have the right click long range attack as well. Thanks for checking it out.
