This was so fun. My first run was 2;34, I would play again if I feel a nervous breakdown coming on, becasue its so calming
Super polished, very nice style. I just missed some effects (dust, sound,…) but great entry!
It is a game and it functions. The theme is nothing revolutionary and based on the fact you used AI even for things like generating your game description, I am not even confident how much of it was your idea. The visuals and audio are okay for what they need to be, though it is clear AI made vast majority of them. The gameplay is what one would expect, though rather slow paced for my liking. In general I am questioning why you decided to enter a game about practicing and then just took shortcuts in many of the areas with AI, but you do you I guess.
Thank you for the honest feedback. I understand why the amount of AI usage makes you question how much of the game was actually my own work.
To be honest, I have participated in and signed up for many Trijams before, and my PC is full of unfinished projects from previous jams. I'm often a perfectionist, and I tend to abandon projects because I feel they aren't good enough. This time, I decided that my main goal was simply to finish and submit a game that I had worked on, even if it wasn't perfect.
I started with a simple idea intentionally. I coded the player movement myself, then learned how to use Unity's new Input System through tutorials. I created the initial sheep behaviour myself and used AI assistance to help fix and improve specific logic problems, such as the sheep movement and some bugs. The GameManager, timer, win system, and other gameplay systems were built and connected by me, with AI helping me troubleshoot some mistakes rather than generating the entire game for me.
I also initially used very simple shapes as sprites. I drew the main menu artwork myself, but I realized that creating and animating every visual asset would take me much longer than I had available. That's why I decided to use AI-generated assets for some things like the player, sheep, UI elements, and buttons. I also used music from Pixabay and handled the implementation and setup myself.
For me, the biggest achievement with this jam was actually finishing something. Even though the game took me around 4 hours and isn't as polished or original as I would like, submitting it is a big step forward for me. I know there is a lot I can improve, and I hope to push myself further and rely more on my own skills in future jams.
I'm sorry if my approach to this jam disappointed you. That wasn't my intention. Thank you for taking the time to play the game and give your honest feedback.
Nice submission. I noticed the sheep animation was strangely jiggling. I wondered whether you used AI code assistance, and I saw that you included a disclosure.
Thank you so much for playing and for the feedback. Yes, I used AI assistance during development and disclosed it in the submission. The sheep animation was something I put together myself using sprite frames and it takes more time for me so i leave as it is, and I agree it ended up looking a bit jiggly I'll definitely improve that in future games.
