I played it using the CCS64 emulator. I don't know if its the emulator or what, but holding the fire button down seems to pause the game until I let go. So to continuously shoot I have to just spam the button instead.
The ship randomly changes to other variants, it's a bit confusing.  Still, I like the graphics. Makes me feel like I'm playing my Amiga again.

Hi, thanks a lot for the compliments—I really appreciate it. Regarding the pause feature: it’s not a bug, it’s intentional. If you download the instructions, everything is explained there, including the "absorber" function and the N.O.G. system. Anyway, to avoid constantly using the keyboard—which gets too complicated—I decided to use a continuous press of the fire button to enter the firing configuration selection mode. When you hold the button down, the game pauses, giving you plenty of time to choose your preferred strategy by moving the joystick in one of the four directions. If you hesitate too long between presses, the Commodore detects the continuous hold and pauses the game. If you aren't careful, you might hold your finger down too long and the configuration will change on its own. It takes a little getting used to, but once you do, it runs like a charm. Read the instructions carefully; they explain everything. Let me know how it goes. It’s a beta; if others have the same issue, I can extend the time required to trigger the pause—I'll see. Thanks for the feedback. Have a great day.
