Thank you for this tight experience! The pacing is well balanced.
Maybe if you present the weapon and boss earlier it would hook the player to stick to the end? It can be just showing them as part of the story introduction. Or just having the upgrades for the weapon grayed out which would evoke curiosity in the player - what are those for? Why do I not have access to them? etc.
I think the greyed out weapons would work very well for that, i didnt even think about that it. Than you so much. :D
really like the game and idea, also how the game progress each death
Thank you, I used johnny upgrade as a reference. :D
Great game! This is like upgrading to be a 10 seconds speedrunner.
Ya, pretty much. Thank you for playing it. :D
Fun to play and nice use of the theme! Reminds me of MINIT but with a stronger focus on incremental upgrades. Well done!
Thank you so much, I just learnt about MINIT a couple of days ago. The inspiration for the game was johnny upgrade. Thx agian. :D
What an excellent and brilliantly executed little game. The theme of 10 seconds is apparent from the start, the movement and gameplay is smooth. Really well done on this project. Hopefully you will add some more levels in the future so I can continue to die from lack of oxygen trying to find my way out. Happy Game Deving!
thank you so much. I'm glad you had a great experience. You also have yourself a Happy Game Deving! :D
This is an outstanding theme package. Ten is literal (10 seconds of oxygen), Level Up is the whole loop (die → spend coins → return stronger), and the short-run structure makes the idea readable in seconds. That is exactly the kind of Story & Theme Integration that stands out on a jam page, and the Craftpix 1-bit sci-fi kit is used with real confidence.
Originality and Gameplay Experience are both excellent. The “Johnny Upgrade” style progression — unlock jump, then movement, then gun, then push routes you couldn’t reach before — is intuitive and addictive. The submissions cover art also does its job: this was one of the first entries that grabbed attention visually.
Visual Design is top-tier for the jam. High-contrast 1-bit presentation, clean HUD, and strong boss/creature silhouettes make it feel polished and streamable. Audio is good too, though a bit quiet by default.
Minor jam notes: Coin Multiplier snowballs extremely hard, and shooting while moving aims from current position rather than click direction, which can feel awkward in later rooms. Neither stopped me from loving the run — this is a high-placement contender. Fantastic work, SinsRay!
Thank you so much, your video was amazing. Also your feedback has made my day. I wanted the coins multiplier to snowball. So the player does not grind for too long. Thank you again. :D
Really nice spin on the theme, concept reminds me of "MINIT", just as a platformer instead of a top-down adventure. Very well put together, especially the progression system. Unlocking upgrades through finding something in the level is a very good idea.
Thank you for your feedback. never heard of MINIT until now, I had to look it up. Thanks again. :D
Great art, concept and gameplay! Nothing to criticize. I think if you do more levels it can be a really fun game! :D
Thank you so much! :D
This is a great entry. Definitely has jam winning potential. I've never played an incremental platformer like this and I love it. I don't even really have any notes on improvements save for maybe impact on enemy attack. Really well done dude.
Update Note: if you're attack speed gets too high, the sprite animation glitches and fire rate becomes slow. Also of note, it's possible to get all the coins in one run. Side quest for anyone who enjoyed this game.
Funny thing about the shooting speed is that I knew about it. But forgot until right now. Thank you for your great feedback, im so glad you liked it. :D
as someone who has played Johnny Upgrade a lot, this is an idea i appreciate greatly! it's a really cool spin on the theme, and the gameplay feels good. i especially like the JU method of having alternate paths that only become accessible once you upgrade enough. (i went for the same strategy i undertook in JU so long ago; buffing the coin multiplier before anything else, which proved just as effective as it was.)
the single biggest criticism i have is the shooting mechanic. the delay between the input and the shot is very long, which feels unresponsive and clunky, and was very frustrating in the endgame. i also think there was room for more polish in the area of sound effects.
still, those concerns are minor, and overall this is a brilliant product. fantastic work!
The idea for this game came from johnny upgrade. For the shooting mechanic, i wanted it to line up with the animations. But if i didnt do that then other problem came up. My apologies and thank you for playing the game. :D
Bro, you just made my day! When I was a kid, I used to play 8-bit games, and this really reminds me of the old Game Boy games. You got 5 stars from me because I love the idea! You should release this game with more levels on Android so I can play it on my phone. :)
Im so glad it made your, reading this made my day. The game is based off of a game i played when i was younger. Thank you so much for comment. :D
Again, I'll say it — you really made my day! 😄
Thank you for the kind words and for the encouragement on the stream. I really appreciate it.
I also left a post on the Discord board explaining why I decided to withdraw my game from the Jam. I don't want to get into the details privately, but I wanted to be transparent about my decision.
I really like your work, so I think we should definitely keep in touch. Who knows, maybe sometime I can help you with one of your projects, or we could even work on something together. I might also be interested in supporting or investing in your games when you release them in the future.
Anyway, I wish you lots of success with your projects, and thanks again for the support! It was great meeting you through the Jam. 👍
Super cool game! love the small loop fast game play system.
Thank so much im glad you liked it! :D
Really cool! I think the high jump makes you get stuck sometimes which can be frustrating, but its beautiful, its fun, and works well for what it is, great job on this one!
Thx so much, I'm so glad you liked! you can press down to get lower jumps. thx again! :D
translated with Google Translate: I really liked the game; the art style and two-color palette look really beautiful to me. The idea is original, but the jumping and movement mechanics could use some polishing to make it easier to control at such high speeds.
I'm so glad you liked the style of the game. Sorry about the movement being clunky. thank you for the feedback. :D
The game feels great. the concept is also good and theme is implemented very cleverly.
Thank you, i'm glad you enjoyed. I used a game I use to play as a reference, its called johnny upgrade . Thx again :D
Aside from the intro, I think the game is nice and has a good idea behind it. I might add a few more sounds to improve the game juice and maybe speed up the player's running animation so it matches the player better and really feels like running. That said, good job, well done
ya i'm not the the best at animating art, especially with only 3 colors. Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate it, I will try to do better! :D
