It's a good game idea and you should really keep working on it in my opinion.
I like the graphics but the game lacks more gameplay elements. And the music feels repetitive.

Thank you! There are definitely some other game elements I would add if I worked more on this, such as mine cart movement, more ways to obtain gold (sifting in water, dynamite?), more animations for rocks breaking, etc. For the game jam I wanted to keep it simple in scope to ensure I could finish it in time.
The music was the last aspect that I worked on, so I could definitely see how enhancements could be made. I just looped 12 measures of a basic blues pattern that I played on a small electric keyboard so that I would have something playing in the background. I was going for the old timey player piano vibe but I don’t think that really came across, but it would be fun to fine tune that!
