I finished all the imprints in Act I and I can say that the technique acquisition is truly random. I sometimes got them on the second imprint in a region and somtimes as the last imprint in the region. In my experience they usually start dropping for sure after you have 10+ imprints but that I just chalked up to rotten luck on my part

Oh, that would make a big difference, then, if a technique never drops in the first three imprints in a region. I only have more than three from 10 regions, so the majority of the ones I've gained wouldn't even have been rolling for them yet. However, I offer a counter-example: in the mono metal series, I only have two imprints, yet I have the technique for that series: Resonant Severing Line. So maybe it's true that the technique never drops as the *first* imprint in a series at least?
