The idea is fun and the retro game hunt gives it a cool twist. The movement has some unexpected tricks and the jank shows up in a few spots, but the charm is there and the music fits the vibe nicely. (pls play my game)

Sometimes a game designer has to ask themself, "Does this platformer need a wall jump mechanic?"I certainly did not expect to be able to slide down walls and parkour up them based upon the aesthetics. I thought maybe our actions were going to be a bit slower and simpler. To go along with the more serious tone of the story. Was oddly a funny and pleasant surprise to find out we could do such extreme actions!

You know, the player ought to have some responsibility towards deriving fun from a game. So even though this one has a bit of character to it, I was able to find the fun in it!

Overall, this game is very jank for a concept that is fairly simple. The collision boxes around the player are too large, and some gameplay aspects feel unfair and unintuitive.

That being said, the game is a finished product and that alone is praiseworthy, alongside the music choice that, whilst a bit inconsistent with the art style, does match up well with the setting the game insists upon.
