How does your game meet GBJam's theme
The game fits the secondary theme by having you discover a piece of "Old Gold" from your childhood home—your original Game Boy—and hunt down classic electronics from different eras to dismantle for upgrades, all to run an in-game retro title called "Old Gold Boat" centered around pirates, gold coins, and hidden treasures.

An incredibly impressive game, amazing job. Managed to get to the end of Ship 2, but no further. There is so much to like here: a comprehensive progression system in the form of parts collection and assembly, really impressive use of graphics (even integrating them into the progression system), and a great DOOM-like first person shooter to boot. The game revels in a gameplay loop of 'revealing the obscured'. However, I have a few comments:

* The RAM + VRAM page seems to be bugged for me. After a certain point, opening the page just hardlocks the game, and I can't seem to fix it, even when I retry. It will play the first few frames of animation into the page, only to then hardlock.

* The game grinds to a halt at a certain point, especially when better and better parts get harder (and grindier) to come by. This is especially true for batteries which I feel are disproportionately weaker than all the other parts.

* The FPS sections of the game are repetitive, with almost no variation beyond the up/downgrades, making those sections feel like a progression check, full stop. To be fair, this is in large part what they're designed to be; I can even see "Requires <certain specs>" before entering a room. Still, I think making this a more fully-fledged roguelike might be a fun direction to take, especially just to offset the grind. The main spice there is the battery being tied to HP, which promotes mastery and flawless play, but even this is pretty hard to do, especially with a tank controls FPS.

Congrats and well done on this one. A technical feat for sure, especially given the 10-day deadline. I'll try to finish it when I can. I wish you the best.

This was really cool, I enjoyed it. The minigames kept things fresh and interesting, and it was fun to dig through things and see what I could find. Had a good time!

Graphics are fantastic, I really like the art and I'm a sucker for the classic GB palette with those greens.

Soundtrack and fx sounded like a legit game, so solid there.

Gameboy Soul is for sure here. This would have gone on the shelf alongside Warioware.

Quirkiness is high, it's very unique and has a vibe all its own.

Bravo on the theme interpretation! The old gold being your Gameboy and trying to restore its working order really hit me in the feels.

Really ambitious for 10 days. I liked the WarioWare minigames to get upgrades. It gave meaning to the games. There’s a shocking amount going on here.

I found the graphics really interesting too.

this is a crazy amount of mechanics for just 10 days, congrats on finishing it all! the idea of needing to upgrade your own gameplay through minigames is a neat concept

Hey! Just a bit of feedback:

I unfortunately pressed the wrong button when the tutorial was open, so i skipped most of it. Didn't show up again on restart.

It seems pretty big in scope, wasn't able to play through so far, but i liked the idea.

While playing the "clawler" minigame, i got an error and the game stopped working.

Here's the error from the console, if that might help you.

Uncaught TypeError: can't access property "label", p.card is undefined

Anyway, great job during this timeline from what i can tell so far!

Thanks for the help! I will fix the "Crawler" minigame issue once the voting ends. Also, you can replay the tutorial in the "Settings." alrealy.

By the way, thank you again, because you helped me realize there’s a small bug with the Tutorial replay in the settings. If you want to watch the tutorial replay, please press "A"(WASD's A) on your keyboard  a few times during tutorial step 4/7 to go back to the first page of the GBOS, and then press 'K' (the Game Boy's 'A' button) to continue the tutorial or it will point wrong APP icon!
