How does your game meet GBJam's theme
It matches both the first and secondary themes Of GBJam. It matches the secondary theme since your goal is playing as this archeologistical type man who went is going through portals to return GOLDEN relics aka cups back to the musuem. So he collects all the golden cups to trasport through portals and return them all to the musuem. So the cups are old so its old and gold. Now the game isn't fully pixilated since I want to expirement how well it could look like, and if it still would fit the esthetic. I can confidently say that it turned out well!

"I can confidently say that it turned out well"? Actually you shipped a game that is not even that great, why is there an anticrasher? Why dose this game look so modern? Why is there any lack of spice? There are people who can make games that look like the ones form gameboy, be like them next time... Also it reminds me of this GIF.

Couldn't get very far unfortunately--I had the same movement issues as imjujubells below (playing on Chrome). I collected a couple goblets (very, very slowly). I also don't think it fits the jam requirements because the resolution is so much bigger than the 160x144 restriction.

I like the colors your chose for your theme!

I'm not sure if it's just me having this issue, but I tried on two browsers to test. (Opera and Firefox) I was walking extremely slow, along with pretty much just flying and going through walls/floors at a bunch of different points. Along with an invisible wall? Not sure if this was intended.

Good bones for a flash style game I would say, but doesn't give me full Gameboy feel visually.

I thought this game was really interesting. I love the art, it reminds me more of a flash game than anything, but I enjoy the color palette alongside the soundtrack as well.

The gameplay was quite hard to understand, but it was still enjoyable. I think adjusting some of the speeds in which the character falls would heavily benefit the game, at the moment the player kind of floats very slowly which kind of hinders the experience.

Overall, I like the idea a lot and I think it matches the secondary theme.

I think this game with some more work could be really good!

I feel like this game concept could be more innovative beyond just a 2D platformer where you collect stuff (even the name Old Gold feels too easy) and the level design more dynamic without object placement feeling scattered. I found it difficult to jump over larger gaps without wall jumping. I couldn't get to the boss level after beating three levels as I got stuck in a  level complete portal in the same level.

The visuals aren't really the best (feels more like a flash game than a Game Boy game), but I do appreciate you experimenting with pixel art and the music is quirky, too (despite sounding unusually close to Tetris).

Still, keep up the good work and I hope you take this feedback to heart in future projects.

Would you like to try out my Goldfish game?
