How does your game meet GBJam's theme
Old Gold is reflected through the game’s main choice: gold is valuable, but salt is what can save the kingdom. Players can chase wealth or sacrifice it to survive the journey and deliver enough salt. main idea is ,in ancient times when survival is at stake, gold may no longer be the most valuable thing.

Interesting. I feel that the main draw of this game are the layered resources that carries through levels. Gold, two of which can be effectively used to bridge anywhere, and salt, which constitutes the win condition but is itself a more consumed resource. Starting off with the game's best level — clear from its sole use in the game's screenshots — felt like a deadline limitation. The next five levels don't quite build well on top of what the first level establishes, neither from a world design standpoint (the next levels don't feel like the real, plausible space that the first level was going for), nor from a holistic game design standpoint, as they don't present a real choice between using gold or salt, which I felt was the main draw of the game. There was, but for one instance, way more than enough gold to meet all the game's obstacles, to the point where I beat the game using only one salt, thus clearing the win condition before level 6.

Designing a game like this well is a Herculean task, though, and I commend the team for an inspired and unique base formula. Definitely, I could see this being expanded upon, brought to life, and made into quite a great puzzle game. I appreciate the undo button. Also, great work on the art front and on emulating the Game Boy feel. Good job on PYRITE, and I wish you the best.

Alright, fine. I learned a lesson Scrooge-style. My good deeds will be reward tenfold or whatever!

Really like the concept here. The core puzzle is nice, though I wish more rooms were a little more difficult, made the gold/salt decision harder, or tested your knowledge of the mechanics more (especially the last room, which is a total gimme). It was also a little difficult to tell which directions the enemies were facing. But this is a great base!

It took me a little while to figure things out, but once I did, nothing could stop me from being a hero! Such a lovely game idea!

I fell for being greedy at the start Xd Helps to read the instructions before playing. Well done!

thank you for playing

Lol I did not understand the goal the first time around and was killed for my greed.  I read the instructions and became a hero on the second go.  Could definitely use more puzzles (given more time, of course).

I'm Glad you played this twice xD . Thank you so much

The mechanic of being able to act with either salt or gold was interesting. The game captures quite well the soul of the gameboy!

I think the game could benefit from some music. But I think the lack of it is probably due to time and not choice.

I admit that I did not beat it on the first try due to some mistakes I made, but I ended up saving the kingdom X)

Overall a solid entry. Congratulations!
