How does your game meet GBJam's theme
The game interprets “Old Gold” as an ancient treasure guarded by a old dragon. Dwarves invade the den to steal the gold, and the player must build platforms and walls to redirect them and protect the hoard.

Best time is 3:11, and it felt like forever with all those thieving dwarves stealing my gold!  I think a little cooldown meter on when you can place a block would have been nice, but overall the game was a lot of fun, with cute character design and good sound and music.

(As I said in another rating, odd that there are *so few* dragon-related games in a game jam about goooooold)

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! A cooldown indicator is a great suggestion and would definitely make block placement clearer. I’m glad you enjoyed the characters, sound, and music—and congrats on the 3:11 time!

Poor dragon can't keep any shinies from the endless sea of thieves and scoundrels. A minute and a half feel so long when you're scrambling the whole time.

Fast-paced arcadey fun.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I’m glad the frantic pace worked for you. Those thieves really do make every second feel much longer when the gold starts disappearing!

This felt almost like a tower defense game, which was pretty fun. I liked the old timey flute like music. Great color choice to capture both the gold theme but also the fire nature of the dragon.

Developer

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the tower-defense feel, the music, and the color palette. I really wanted the visuals to capture both the gold theme and the dragon’s fiery nature.

Very cool concept ! I loved how the chaos builds up as time goes on. Maybe walls should last a bit longer ?

Developer

Thank you! I’m happy you enjoyed the escalating chaos. Making the walls last a little longer is a good suggestion and would give the player more time to plan.

Nice call giving the dragon no attacks, building walls to redirect the thieves makes the den itself the weapon. and printing K BUILD J FIRE right on the title screen means you never have to leave the game to learn it. nice job

Developer

Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked the idea of turning the den itself into the dragon’s weapon. I also wanted the controls to be immediately understandable, so it’s great to hear that the title-screen instructions worked well!
