Very complete little game. At the beginning, I didn't understand that you could mine upwards and downwards. I thought there were some areas that couldn't be passed through. The skeleton monsters were a bit scary. The rock attacks weren't as effective as the bomb. I died 5-6 times repeatedly. I probably haven't explored all the content. I never went to the up store. I find the boss. I didn't kill him and then ran to the right side and it ended. Good game.

Very cool little game. Telling the beginning of the story by having you pick up some gold and buying your pickaxe felt intuitive. I really liked the inventory system as well, it all felt very classic. The skeletons, to be honest, are terrifying, and I couldn't get a read on them. They respawn and jitter around and hit me a lot more than I'd like to admit. I ended up beating the boss and standing in place mashing the mine button. It would be nice if the rocks were a one-hit ranged kill instead of dealing the same amount of damage as a pickaxe and being consumable. It could also use a better visual cue for when something is in pickaxe range and if you're mining up or down. Good work!

I kept dying lol but other than the controls needing more feedback (I want an animation for when i'm mining upward/downward) this is super professional

Neat little game! Pretty similar interpretation of the theme compared to ours, with nice Metroidvania-like progression. Clunky controls made fighting the skeletons a bit unfair, and the moment you dropped me onto the boss I just ran for it :P Could also use visual cues to show when you're digging upwards or downwards. I like it tho. Keep it up!

The core gameplay loop is solid, but this game feels pretty rough around the edges. Besides the obvious like the lack of music, there are a lot of little things like the attack visual being way smaller than the hitbox, the skeletons not moving away from a ledge you need to jump on, the audible background hiss of the bomb sound, being able to leave blocks suspended in midair before the game teaches you how to dig upwards (that bit of tutorialization is really elegant), etc. It also feels like there was a bit of extra scope that got hit by the jam deadline - outside of equipping bombs I never needed to use the inventory, that could've just been a single button press.

On a more positive note, the game is really well structured in terms of layout, it teaches you every single mechanic without a single word - every time I found a new block type it was "Huh, I can't do anything" -> find new power-up- > "I remember where to try that!". And the graphics aren't the most technically impressive but they're pure gameboy vibes - easy 5/5 in the soul category.

The game looks good and the gameplay is very responsive, good job overall! If I could change anything would be making the falling speed a bit faster, like twice as much as the jump speed, and maybe some visual cue to show that the character can mine up and down too. Congratulations!
