How does your game fit the main theme "Dinosaurs"? Please, explain.
I promise there is at least [1] dinosaurs inside of this game.
How does your game fit the additional theme "Anachronism"? Please, explain.
I put the dinosaurs inside of the medieval ages; look there's even little knights riding them.

I think you picked a reasonable mechanic for your first Godot project. One has to start somewhere, and you started pretty well.
The art obviously is the strongest part in your game. And I like how you managed to design the transitions between the different game states. This is all smooth and well thought out. If I would optimize something in that realm, I would give each interactive element a micro hover + click effect (in ideal visual and audio feedback). Otherwise the buttons and options feel kind of dead and unresponsive.
Curious how your game dev journey continues. Combining game dev with art skills is a pretty strong combo, wish you best luck and lots of fun on that journey.
That's fair on the hover. I don't believe I implemented any interactions for when you hover over the button, only when pressed. I probably could have had them change in size or maybe the white outline would change or the like.
And hopefully I'll make something else soon. I think I'll probably try to do something without a time limit next, I enjoyed doing DinoJam6 but it consumed pretty much all of my free time for two weeks lol
To me, the design of the dinosaur mounts was the highlight of this game. I instantly fell in love with the dilophosaur. Good job!
Dilophosaurus was also my favorite! I'm so glad you liked the designs. The idea of knights riding dinosaurs was the original motivation behind the game.
The art is fantastic! Gotta say I do enjoy the voice over at the beginning, added a nice touch. I do with that when you had a draw there was still an animation, otherwise it feels really flat, Could be as simple as they both bounce off each other in the middle. Other than that it is a simple idea well executed. Good job!
That's definitely something I should've done! Could've just played half the attack animations. Having more animations was definitely something I desired (I also wanted to include animations for Victory/Defeat rather than immediately moving onto the next screen). If I work on the game further I definitely would add a draw animation and more bits of flavor.
The art is hands down amazing. I wish there was more to the gameplay but still this is a cool implementation of rock, paper, scissors. Excellent job!
I think the difference between the art and the gameplay really shows my background coming into this lol
The art is so so so incredible! And the voice clips are so fun! I just wish there was some sort of strategy to the game so I could do more than just clicking a button.
That's fair. I made sure to add some enemy strategy so if you try you can predict its next action rather than it be completely random. But at the end of the day its still rock-paper-scissors. And yeah, the voice clips were great, I didn't expect so many people to send me such great "dinosaur sounds"
I beat the game in 5 seconds, but the artstyle and the execution of this project was well done. The art especially was so good.
I think rock paper scissors was a smart way to reduce the scope of the game to something manageable in 2 weeks.
And I still got pretty close to the end of the game jam period just doing rock-paper-scissors! So it was definitely the right choice for this. Hopefully now that I have some experience with coding in the Godot engine I'll be able to do something more complicated in the future even with a time limit.
really cute! very simple game. very beautiful and satisfying art. the voice acting audition in the credits was funny
Thank you, I really wanted everyone else to hear the whole audio clip because I found it hilarious.
The art style is really good! I just didn't expect a rock paper scissors based game, i wish there was more to it. The audio did get repetitive as well. But for a first godot project its very well done, great job!
I probably should've just found audio online, but I figured since I was making pretty much everything else from scratch I might as well try! I was hoping to add types to the rock-paper-scissors gameplay as part of a way of differentiating the opponents and the tactics against them (as in if they landed a hit with a specific type it would do more damage). But I ran out of time unfortunately
this game's visuals are amazing! But the gameplay kinda disappointed me by only being rock paper scizzors, but really awesome game!
The game visuals probably would work for a fighting game just as well, if not better. But thank you :)
