[Godot] [Programmer] [LFP] Beginner gameplay programmer looking to collaborate

Hi everyone,

I’m a beginner game programmer and Computer Engineering student from Italy, looking for a small project or team to join so I can gain experience, improve my skills, and learn how real game development collaboration works.

I’m mainly interested in programming and technical game design, especially gameplay systems, game logic, UI, tools, and prototyping.

What I can currently offer:

- Godot 4 and GDScript

- Phaser 3, JavaScript and TypeScript

- Basic Unity and C#

- Gameplay systems and state machines

- Enemy or CPU logic

- UI implementation and responsive layouts

- Save systems, progression, menus, and basic tools

- Git and GitHub

- AI-assisted development, debugging, and documentation

I have not worked professionally yet and I have never shipped a commercial game, so I want to be transparent about my level. However, I have been building my own game project from scratch and recently uploaded an early playable prototype

I’m mainly looking for:

- A small indie project or beginner-friendly team

- A project where I can contribute as a programmer or technical designer

- People who communicate clearly and are willing to learn together

- A realistic scope with regular progress rather than an oversized dream project

I’m especially interested in gameplay-heavy projects such as action games, RPGs, strategy games, management games, card games, or narrative games. I also enjoy discussing mechanics, game ideas, progression, and player experience.

Programming is my main focus, but I’m open to helping with game design, writing, level prototyping, basic 2D work, testing, documentation, or other areas where I can learn and contribute. I am also willing to learn Unity, Unreal, other engines, or new tools if the project is a good fit.

I’m open to unpaid hobby collaboration or rev-share, provided the scope, responsibilities, ownership, and expectations are discussed clearly from the beginning. I’m also interested in small paid tasks if the project has a budget.

If you are looking for a motivated beginner programmer who is serious about learning and contributing, feel free to reply here or send me a message.

Thanks for reading!

hey! found your post about looking for a team to get more game development experience. i noticed you've worked with gameplay systems, UI, save systems, and some Unity/C#, which are all things we're actively building.

im the owner of Gilded Horizons, a 3D social sandbox game in Unity. we're still early in development and have a lead developer working on the foundation, but we'd like more people who can help with smaller individual systems.

we're currently pre-funding and volunteer-based. would you be interested in learning more about the project?

yeah a lot

Perfect! Would you mind messaging me on Discord at coolguy2710_ or emailing me at coolguy@gildedhorizons.net tysm cant wait to speak with you further!
