hey! i found your post about wanting to move from smaller Unity projects into something you could actually take seriously and put in a portfolio.

i’m already working on a project called Gilded Horizons. it’s a PC social sandbox in Unity 6.3, but we recently cut the development scope way down so rn we’re working toward one proper playable prototype and a good foundation.

i know you originally posted about forming your own team, so i’m not assuming you’re looking to just join somebody else’s thing. i figured it was still worth asking since you’ve been using Unity for a while.

we’re pre-funding and any current contribution would be volunteer, with no guaranteed future pay. if you’re open to hearing about an existing project i’d be happy to show you where we’re at and see if there’s a small system you’d actually want to work on.

hey! i came across your reply on itch and checked out that you’re mainly doing 3D technical art, characters and props, plus rigging/lighting.

i’m working on Gilded Horizons, a PC social sandbox in Unity 6.3. we’re still really early and rn the goal is a small clean prototype rather than trying to build the whole game at once.

your mix of modeling + technical art is what caught my attention because eventually we’ll need assets that actually work properly in Unity, not just models that look good in a render.

we’re pre-funding so any current work would be volunteer and i can’t guarantee future pay. if you’re still interested in joining an indie project, i’d like to talk and see what part of the 3D pipeline you actually enjoy most before we decide on anything.

hey! i found your itch post about looking for a team and wanted to reach out.

i’m working on Gilded Horizons, a PC social sandbox in Unity 6.3. we’ve recently scaled the project down a lot and rn we’re focusing on getting a clean playable prototype working instead of trying to build every planned feature at once.

i saw you can work with Unity and that you’ve contributed to some other projects already. programming is mainly what i’d be interested in talking to you about, probably starting with one smaller system so neither of us is committing to something huge immediately.

we’re pre-funding, so it would be volunteer and i can’t promise future pay. if you’re still looking for something to join i’d love to see some of the stuff you’ve worked on and tell you more about where we’re at.

hey! i found your itch post while looking for people with actual multiplayer/networking experience.

i’m working on Gilded Horizons, a Unity 6.3 social sandbox. the long-term idea is pretty big, but rn we’ve intentionally cut things down and we’re focusing on getting a small prototype and the technical foundation working properly first.

the gameplay + networking side of your post is what stood out to me. eventually we need multiplayer social spaces and persistent player systems, but i’m not trying to dump all of that on somebody at once lol. i’d rather start with something small and see how we work together.

i did notice your post mentions revshare, so i wanna be clear before wasting your time: we’re currently pre-funding and i’m not offering or promising revshare, pay, or future funding rn. if you’d still be open to talking under that setup, i’d be happy to show you where the project is actually at.

hey! i came across your post about volunteering on game projects and wanted to reach out.

i’m working on Gilded Horizons, a PC social sandbox being built in Unity 6.3. we recently pulled the scope back pretty heavily because we want to get the actual foundation right before trying to build all the bigger systems.

rn we’re mainly working toward a small playable prototype with movement, interactions, basic multiplayer/player data foundations and a clean workflow. your C# and software engineering background caught my attention because we could definitely use another person who likes working on systems instead of just throwing features together.

we’re pre-funding, so this would be volunteer and i can’t promise future pay. if you’re still available i’d be interested in seeing some of the Unity/C# stuff you’ve worked on and talking about one smaller system first.

hey! i saw your post about wanting to get some QA experience and figured i’d reach out.

i’m working on Gilded Horizons, a PC social sandbox game being made in Unity. we’re still pretty early rn and focusing on getting the basic prototype working first, so once we have a build ready i’d mainly want help testing simple stuff like movement and interactions.

nothing super formal, mostly things like what broke, what you were doing when it happened, whether you could make it happen again, and anything that felt confusing or awkward.

just wanna be upfront that we’re pre-funding, so this would be unpaid. if that sounds like the kind of testing experience you’re looking for, i’d be happy to tell you more about the project.

hey! i saw your post and noticed you said you’d rather focus more on the programming side instead of having to do the music, art, and everything else yourself.

i’m working on Gilded Horizons, a Unity social sandbox project. rn we’re keeping the scope pretty small and focusing on getting a basic playable prototype and simple interactions working before we try doing anything bigger.

if you’re still looking for a team, i’d be interested in talking about a programming role and maybe starting with one smaller system that you’d actually enjoy working on.

just wanna be upfront that we’re still pre-funding, so it would be volunteer and i can’t guarantee future pay. if that still sounds interesting, i can explain where the project is at and what kind of stuff we need help with.

Hey! I’m currently putting together more of the team for a project called Gilded Horizons.

Gilded Horizons is a social sandbox game we’re developing in Unity. The long-term idea is a world where people can hang out, explore, customize themselves and eventually create their own things using our building/creation systems.

We made a pretty important decision recently to slow down and focus on the foundation first. We had a lot of big ideas planned, but there’s no point trying to build all of that on top of shaky systems. Right now the priority is getting the actual core of the game working properly and building a team that can realistically grow with it.

We’re especially interested in hearing from Unity/C# developers, people interested in networking/backend work, UI/UX designers, technical artists, 3D environment/prop artists, animators, QA testers and audio people. If you do something game-development related that isn’t listed and think you could help, you can still reach out.

The game is PC-first with PCVR/VR support planned. Visually we’re going for a grounded near-future city rather than full sci-fi. Clean architecture, glass, stone, greenery, warmer interiors and subtle gold/black details.

I also want to be completely upfront about money because I don’t like recruitment posts that hide it until the end. We’re currently pre-funding, so these are volunteer positions right now. If the project gets funded, we want to move into paid work where we realistically can, but I’m not going to promise anyone money that doesn’t exist yet.

This also isn’t a situation where I want people joining just to blindly make whatever they’re told. If you know your area better than I do and think something we’re doing is a bad idea, I want you to say that. I’d much rather have people who actually contribute ideas and feedback.

We also don’t want generative AI artwork being used as final game assets. Artists should actually be creating the art.

If you’re interested, reply with what you do, a portfolio/examples if you have them, and your preferred way to contact you. Beginners are welcome for some roles as long as you’re willing to communicate, learn and actually stick around.

I can send the project overview and more information privately before you agree to anything.

Hey Alex! I’d definitely be interested in talking to you about this.

I’m working on a game called Gilded Horizons. It’s a social sandbox game where the focus is more on creating things, exploring and spending time with other people rather than combat or constantly trying to win something.

Music is something I eventually want to play a pretty big part in making different areas actually feel different. I don’t want to just grab a bunch of random background tracks and throw them everywhere. Some areas might be calmer and ambient while others could feel more active depending on what the space is actually for.

We’re still early in development, so I definitely wouldn’t be expecting an entire soundtrack from you right away. I’d much rather start with something smaller and figure out whether the project and our direction are something you enjoy.

I also saw that you’re under 18, so just so it’s clear from the beginning, we keep work with younger team members project-related and professional.

If you’d like to take a look at Gilded Horizons, I can send you an overview of the project and some of the visual direction so you have something to work from.

Hey! I wanted to reply because your combination of 3D modeling, rigging and animation lines up with quite a few things we’re eventually going to need.

I’m working on a social sandbox game called Gilded Horizons in Unity. We’re still pretty early, but as development moves forward we’re going to need environment assets, props, animation work and eventually more avatar-related work as well.

I did see that you’re mainly looking for paid/revenue-share projects, so I want to be transparent about where we are before going any further. We’re currently pre-funding and I can’t offer a normal paid position right now.

I’m still reaching out because your work is very close to the type of work we’ll need, and I’d rather actually meet people now instead of waiting until we need something immediately and scrambling to find somebody.

If you’re interested in seeing what we’re building, I’d be happy to send you some of the project material. And if the current funding situation means it isn’t a fit right now, I completely understand that too.

Hey! I’d be interested in talking with you about your post.

I’m working on a project called Gilded Horizons, which is a social sandbox game being developed in Unity. We’re still pretty early in development, so a lot of the 3D/world side of the game is still being developed rather than everything already being decided and somebody just being handed a list of assets to make.

We’re eventually going to need environments, furniture, props, buildings and a lot of other assets for the world, so I wanted to reach out after seeing your work.

The direction is basically modern/near-future without going super sci-fi. We want the environments to feel welcoming and believable instead of everything being neon cyberpunk.

Before I send you a ton of stuff though, I did want to ask if you’re open to volunteer projects. We’re currently pre-funding, so I don’t want to accidentally give the impression that I’m offering a paid position right now.

If you are open to it, I’d be happy to send you more about the project!

Hey! I wanted to reply because the mix of environment art and technical art you mentioned is actually really relevant to what we’re working on.

Our project is called Gilded Horizons. It’s a social sandbox game being built in Unity, and eventually the environments are going to be a huge part of it. We’re aiming for a grounded near-future look rather than full sci-fi — cleaner architecture, glass, stone, greenery, warmer interiors and some gold/black details throughout the world.

Something I especially liked from your post is that you’re not only making models, but actually working with materials and getting things set up properly inside the engine. We really need to keep performance in mind alongside making the world look good, especially since PCVR/VR support is something we want later too.

I saw that you’re open to considering unpaid/rev-share projects depending on the project. We’re currently pre-funding, so I wouldn’t be able to offer normal paid work right now, and I’d rather be upfront about that.

If you’re open to checking it out, I can send you our project overview and some of the direction we have so far. You can see if it’s actually something you’d enjoy working on before committing to anything.

yeah thats actually something we could look into. right now the builds are mainly gonna be downloadable Unity builds since thats what we're developing/testing with, but I can definitely see about putting together a browser/WebGL version on itch.io for easier playtesting too.

it probably wouldn't have every feature since some stuff we're planning, especially VR and certain multiplayer systems, may not work the same in browser, but for basic gameplay, UI, movement, bugs, and general feedback I think itd be really useful.

Hey! I came across your post about doing volunteer UI/UX and web work and wanted to reach out because I think you might actually fit a gap we have.

Im the owner of Gilded Horizons, a Unity 6.3 social sandbox game we're building for PC first with VR later. We already have graphic designers so I wouldnt be trying to pile general graphics onto you, what we really need is somebody who actually thinks about game UI/UX, menus, interaction flow and eventually the UI for our building/Creation Wand system.

We’re pre-funding so it would currently be a volunteer position. Anything you contribute would be documented and credited, and if funding is secured later we want to look at compensating early contributors where possible, but its not something I can guarantee beforehand.

I know you said you can only take a couple volunteer projects so no worries at all if you're full, but I figured it was worth asking!

hey! kinda random but i found your playtesting post and wanted to see if youd be interested in testing something were working on

its called Gilded Horizons and were making it in Unity. were finally getting to the point where we need people who DIDNT make the game to play it because developers somehow have the ability to stare directly at a bug and not notice it 😭

itd probably just be stuff like me sending you a build, telling you what were trying to test and then you telling me what broke, what felt weird, what was confusing, etc

i did see that you prefer paid testing so just wanna be upfront that were pre funding rn and this would have to be volunteer at the moment. totally understand if thats not what youre looking for

if you'd still be interested though id love to have you test some of our builds

Hi Yanakiin — would a small environment prop for a Unity social-building prototype fit your current requests?

The project is Gilded Horizons. We’re starting with a tiny test environment, and a simple freestanding bench or planter could be useful once we agree the import scale and style. We already have concept-art coverage, so I’m not looking to turn this into an open-ended design assignment.

I understand your finished requests are public CC0 assets and portfolio pieces, and that you work one prop at a time around weekends. We would only request something suitable for those terms. Could we first check the style and Unity export requirements with you?

We’re pre-funding with a possible commercial release later. Contributions can be documented; we intend to consider retroactive compensation if funding permits, but it is not guaranteed unless separately agreed in writing.
