How does your game meet GBJam's theme
The player can buy stuff with selling their gold nuggets?.The longer the gold nuggets are in the inventory the more they are worth. Thus old means gold more!

Very nice game. I like it.

I like this. It looks stellar and quirky, has sweet (albeit repetitive) music and the inventory system is innovative and really makes you think. The risk reward system with the gold being more valuable after each fight is welcome too.

One of the few issues is that it's easy to discard something by mistake if you just want to go back to the shop. Also this game could have been longer so that the player will have the chance to fully upgrade their inventory.

Other than that, though, great job!

Really good game! Concept is intuitive but really makes you think, can definitely see it being pushed further into a longer game, though that might lead to balance issues later on. Art was charming as well.

As for criticisms, while I do appreciate the game's short length and easiness, maybe making it a bit longer and giving the player more options for items, enemies, etc would have helped to add depth. I also think the music was a bit repetitive.

Like the game but there are a few things that should be addressed. The "Discard" function is too easy to accidentally hit because the controls are a bit unintuitive by the way they are mapped. Also, after I bought the first bag upgrade, like stated previously, I accidentally threw away the last item in my bag and it wouldn't let me exit the bag screen after that, had to restart the game.

Loved the music, it was very easy on the ears. Artwork is great and adheres to the strict 4-color rule. Everything about it is great aside from the controls and the one bug I ran into. Great work!

Overall, one of the top contenders in GBJAM 14!

Finally a game that lets me stack more than just two shields! Now I can become the wall I always wanted to be!
This was really nice! Loved the whole ''the older the nugget the higher the value''
Peak game man!

The game was very well polished and implemented, I really liked the visuals, the music, and the fact that you could keep the coins for another round to make it double or sell it for upgrades or opening inventory always made it challenging to guess what's gonna come next. Great Job

I really really liked it, and I love the artstyle!

I really had fun on it, i loved the concept of it and the music and art were amazing!

at the start it didnt really make sense for me to store gold in the backback if you could access the shop every time you kill, but overall i really did have fun

I love a good turn based game!

Nice, i like this one

The power of compound interest! Hey, this was cool. Love your art style. It was a tough choice picking which of my nuggets to hang on to and for just how long, but I'm happy with the decision I made. This is one of those jam games when all I can really wish for is just MORE, which I always take to be a really great sign. Wonderful work!

This is really nice!
The gameplay loop is very pleasant and I really like the art :-)
Cool game!

That was really fun, but when you sell everything in your inventory the game is stuck there forever.

Very fun game. As a dungeon crawler fan I loved the gameplay. I detest backpack/inventory management, it was always my least favorite thing in Diablo I & II. But the ability to reorient things made the management into a puzzle minigame of its own and that was good.

Graphics are fantastic, I absolutely love the art. Extremely well done with a very unique style.

Soundtrack is good, music sets a nice mood and the sound fits.

Gameboy Soul is here, I could see a game playing like this on an old GB.

Quirkiness is here, the game is certainly unique!

Secondary theme interpretation: There's gold, it is old. Check and check!

As someone who's also made an inventory battler (for a previous jam) I appreciate seeing one in a gameboy jam for sure. I think it would've been nice to have proximity buffs/effects, though I'm not sure HOW you'd explain them to the player, unless you had a "press b for more" or something on an item? Well done though! It was neat watching gold go up in value and having to decide on when to sell vs hold it.

The doubling of nuggets seems like a dangerous gambit for game balance. I got 128 money off one because I just kept selling the other ones I earned. Still got mauled by the dragon, but that may have just been me misjudging the sudden difficulty spike. I could afford the buster sword, but didn't think I'd need it with what I'd faced before then, and then got shredded by an angry dragon (former) parent.

The artwork is stellar. I could have *sworn* it didn't follow the 160x144 requirement, but I checked some screenshots, and it did. Deceptively detailed. Well done.

Soundscaping largely faded into the background for me, they were there for sure, but I didn't really pay them heed either.

Certainly of of the top games in the jam. Its got all the components of the game and polish to boot.

Exellent game, loved everything and loved the backpack managment (even if sometimes i coul'nt select the object i wanted to move :) ) Nice idea about the incremental nugget value.
I beat the dragon!

Really fun loop, the backpack juggling got me hooked fast. Nuggets getting worth more the longer you hold them is such a smart twist on the theme, I kept getting greedy lol. Nice one!

I've got the nuggets!

You nailed the core mechanics. Very fun game.

Of course there's the bug that kinda makes the game turns into a roguelike... haha, but this is a small issue. I really liked this entry.
