This was pretty fun! I was pretty impressed with the physics sim and the gameplay it self is chaotic party game type fun, I feel like it would fit in really well in something like Warioware. Maybe make the balls give more xp? or make the green ones give health? really interesting ideas here either way :) great work!
yea man mario party warioware thing was what I thought i could almost hurriedly smash together hahaha. Thank you for playing and for the feedback
I’m honestly not totally sure what I just played, but I kind of mean that in a good way.
I never really understood the objective, the setting, or what I was supposed to be working toward. The whole thing feels very chaotic and thrown together.
The part that stood out, though, is the little ninja controller. That character feels way more developed than the rest of the game. Movement is fast, the dash feels good, the jump has a nice amount of height, and the downward diagonal attack is a really cool touch. There’s clearly something solid there.
It almost feels like you’ve built a really fun ninja movement/combat controller and dropped it into this strange space experiment just to let people mess with it.
I don’t think the current game/theme gives that controller much room to shine, but I could absolutely see this becoming a really fun 2D side-scrolling ninja game. Something in the Ninja Gaiden kind of direction would fit it really well.
So yeah, mostly confused by the game itself, but pretty impressed with the character controller. There’s definitely something worth building around there.
Thank you Ryan, im shocked that someone even noticed the effort I put into the character the way you described. It was the first time I had made a Finite State Machine controller in a jam and spent most of the time making the character feel as nice as possible. With basically only 8 or so hours left I threw everything you saw together in a hurry. so yeah I can understand the confusion about what's even going on.
My original inspo was actually Katana Zero and did want to make a side scrolling ninja game but of course that was WAY too big of a scope lol.
That being said I really appreciate your comment thank you.
Why am I in space? Why are there tennis balls! Why am I a samurai! AAAHHHHH
Lots of fun for such a simple concept. Well done :D
Hahaha thank you for playing!!
i manage to make a score 2900!! intresting idea!
Wow nice! Thanks for playing!
Chaotic and pretty fun knowing that there was no way I was going to survive for long. Never did find out what that bar on the right was going to do though... I just couldn't stay alive that long!
Thanks for playing! The blue bar is for points and yea I did the absolute bar minimum to implement that.... Wanted to just get the game over the line so thats my bad. I appreciate the feedback!
Even if last minute, good job with the jam entry!
It's quite rough around the edges but I honestly think there is something in the chaos of slashing the objects with the bouncy 2D physics, maybe if toning it down a bit and adding other physics interactions (like a fighting character inside a pinball machine). If you ever want to create a new prototype with this idea, I'd love to play again.
Thank you for your feedback! Great ideas for sure I think you're right about toning it down and adding another element or two. Thanks again!
