I genuinely had a canon blast with this one, loved the characters and the wacky setting that is Torovo!
My only notes are allowing the play to maybe skip to a specific time of day and being able to completely skip repeat dialogue. Maybe some sort of highlight or indication of when you can use one of your pictures to uncover new info would be very useful as well!
I did encounter a couple story breaking bugs:
I spoke to nomad first and protag mentions the guy at the hospital remembering a horse even though I hadn't spoken with him yet.
Then with Kenny's arrest protag calls the voice his dad even though I never got that info. Then everyone continues as if that was common knowledge.
Overall it was a great demo!
Gameplay 02:19:53
I played about 30 minutes of Torovo for my stream, and I played the desktop version.
The artwork for this one had a really nice, unique aesthetic, especially for the characters. The creature seemingly trapped in the town center and the circumstances of Protag's entrance were intriguing for sure.
Protag has clearly had a rough life and has absolutely seen some s**t. LOL And OMG, Wally had me laughing so much; he's just such a mix of sarcasm and being a lackadaisical, half-butted cop that he was kinda endearing. Considering how he talks to Protag, curious to see why he is even helping him and didn't just say, "here, check the box and go away."
The photo aspect seemed like it would potentially be a cool touch, especially with the time loops mentioned in the game description. I will say, as I got to the end of my 30 minutes of gameplay, though, I started feeling aimless and unsure what to do next, as I'd been to all the places mentioned and no one seemed to care about the photos. Also, the photo mechanic tripped me up a little because I kept forgetting to hit E to actually take a photo.
Also, please note: "spazzing out" and "spazzing" in general are offensive terms that really shouldn't be used, as they are harmful to people with disabilities. Convulsing would be far more appropriate and actually fit what the character seemed to be doing.
Likewise, having a character who is violent because of having schizophrenia is continuing a harmful and false stereotype of people with a very real mental illness that keeps resulting in many of them being subject to fear or even attacked. And to be honest, when I see that in any kind of media, it immediately screams lazy writing, and that's a shame when the rest of the game is so much better told.

Thank you so much for playing our game and for your in depth feedback!
We completely agree and for the past months have been increasing the way NPCs react to your photos. Hopefully you can play it again when it's updated!
This goes into the writing as well, a lot of placeholder material slips through the cracks so thank you for bringing them to our attention! We agree on the damage that implies but even more so the thoughtlessness behind it undermines the complexities of Leopold as a character. We cannot wait to show you the fixes as they bring us closer to how we imagined Torovo to be.
Thank you again for the feedback! :)
Holy moly, I REALLY liked everything about this! The aesthetic is so delicious; I love the character art and the vibes, and the overworld sprites are so cute. Such a great style for an immersive world, I can't overstate how much I dig it.
The story was really compelling, and I'm very excited to find out what the hell is going on. I'm so grateful for the time loop because I did feel hella bad for killing Willy my first run, and I do think a time loop game really lends itself to a mystery where you can observe every angle. I also think the photography mechanic is really clever - it feels particularly detectivy to have to find and photograph your own evidence rather than collect it as a standard item or automatically added to a list. There's something exciting about the possibilities... Something that lends itself to a playground rumor where you could say "ohhh if you show willy a picture of three flowers hidden around the world, there's a secret ending where he marries you!" and you'd have no choice but to believe it. I dig a system that could allow for weird or hidden puzzles.
If i HAD to nitpick, I'd say it's a little confusing that the time in the top right corner on the map isn't actually going to be the time whenever you enter a new area, since it changes once you travel to that new area. I feel like the time should change when you enter the map instead, but honestly it's not that big of a deal and it isn't hard to figure out. I'd also love an option to skip previously seen text, especially since this is a timeloop game.
REALLY REALLY good game! It's on my steam wishlist!
I played it on stream around 3:16:00
Thank you, so glad you got immersed in the game to that level. We already added skipping dialogue, however we haven't updated the itch build yet.
Hi, I'm a fan of detective and mystery games so I pick this up to play.
Here's the VOD on Youtube
At first look, I love the unique art style and witty scripts. I like how the characters have their own time availability so players need to manage their Activity Meter. The retro camera interface is great.Overall, interesting premise with supernatural and science element.
Really cool premise, love the detective vibes!
I really enjoyed this. I had to stop right before the end, but I did finish the demo off stream so I do have my own complete picture of the demo.
I really like the art, the vibe, the gameplay. It gave me a kind of Rusty Lake vibe (among other things).
I like that certain parts of the story require different conditions like
a character being temporarily removedto progress in different time loops, reminds me of the game Sexy Brutale. The board showing the connections between what the character knows about the town is really good for reminding the player of their progress
The weekly reset removing unimportant photos is great, not chasing red herrings for too long.
Showing where characters would be at a given time if you've seen them there before at that time is such a great quality of life thing. I would have been stubborn and not written it down if I had to commit it to memory.
The green text showing important keywords is a nice touch
Some weekly resets had different dialogue at the start of the day, but other dialogue is just repeated from other weeks. Maybe nice to have a different text box if it's repeated dialogue so it's alright to button mash if it's something you know already?
Similarly, if it's a dialogue chain you've gone through already a skip might be nice.
Encountered at least one bug where the text sound continuously plays but characters dialogue has already finished
Another visual error where the right side of the train station near Kenny has the wires(?) not aligning.
Controller does not necessarily play nicely. The button to show next dialogue also confirms the dialogue choice, so in a situation where the player is asked something and the player chooses a dialogue option it, which ends in returning to the dialogue choice can result in an infinite loop.
EX:
Wally asks Protag "Did you need something?"
Protag chooses "Remind me about the case" Dialogue proceeds. Dialogue chain returns to
Wally asking Protag "Did you need something?"
hitting next (for me) simultaneously went to dialogue choice and selecting the first choice, resulting in the infinite loop

This is such great and thoughtful feedback! Means a lot to us!
