gorgeous pixel art!!
Cute little game, the bit in the hacking section really got me lol that was funny. Also the note that changed text, does it change when you turn on the flashlight?
One piece of feedback I have is to work more on the movement, the space section inside one of the terminals felt particularly unwieldy cuz I would get stuck on terrain and couldn't move very smoothly.
I think with a bit of polish it can be a great game! I really liked the humor, and an "open" space was a nice design decision.
Beautiful game!!! I had a great time! I just wished i didn't get stuck in the dorways or along the walls lol. You might've done that intentionally tho lol.
Glad you enjoyed it! The movement issue with the walls stems from a problem with the acceleration in the floaty/space levels. It would take forever to go back the other direction if you were up against a wall and the only solution we could think of in time was to check if there was collision and set the velocity to 0 and to use move_and_collide(). Afterwards, we found that you can do velocity.slide() to slide along the wall while also using move_and_collide():
var collision = move_and_collide(velocity * delta)
if collision:
velocity = velocity.slide(collision.get_normal())
Facepalm moment, next time I'll make sure to scroll alllll the way to the bottom of the docs!Oh lol, this game reminds me a lot of this entry from this game jam: /jam/godot-wild-jam-97/rate/5031075
Because both games include disaster preventing by solving puzzles and a cat
(well our entry has puzzle solving to prevent disaster too but no cat)
the scene with floating free in space looked very nice and pretty, i love the parallax effect, good entry, well done
Thank you! I checked out both the linked game and your game, very fun entries!
Good game, fun twist with the left-right puzzle
If you want proper feedback, it feels like you were more focused on the amount of content, rather than on it's polish (weird hitbox and light; floating in space is authentic, but not exactly fun; limited space in the actual space feels strange)
Thank you for the feedback! We definitely ran out of time to give it some real polish. We also wanted to add a few other things that just didn't make it into this version of the game. We went back through the hitbox and velocity stuff just now after your feedback and now it's fixed when going through doors and such, but it'll have to wait until after the jam period to be updated.
I loved this lmao, the gag with the terminal was unexpected and made me laugh. Also love the animations you made, the lighting system with the torch and the floaty space controls! That warp shader thing at the end was awesome too
I'm glad you enjoyed the terminal :P
I love the art! it's sooo cute, and the dialogue options and tid bits thorough the game are amazing, like the notes on the wall, and the dialogue option of the garbage search, it changed if you pressed it repeatedly, stunning. Just one thing, if you put in full screen you can't see the dialogue, the same thing happened to us so we forced a specific resolution for our game if it helps. But seriously, the playability and the theme and the whole vibe in general are awesome, and it's very entertaining to play, and satisfying to save the kitty. And humanity, but the kitty more
Thank you so much! I was struggling to figure out the fullscreen issue breaking some things like UI positioning and the screen transition effect despite setting anchors and such. I'll have to look deeper into it again for sure, I'm definitely missing something. I'm glad you were able to save the kitty (and everyone else)! <33
Stunning game :) Vibe was immaculate.
Thanks! :3
Very cute game, I had some trouble with the controls early on but got it quickly. I think that the setting and vibe of the game are amazing and you two should be proud! The hacking section did scare me for a second XD
Thank you for the feedback!
*laughs in evil hacking minigame* >:3
Really cool game! The dialogue was humorous, and the puzzles fun to solve. Great work!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :3
