I thought this game would turn into a horror jumpscare after the last arcade was gone. Luckily, it didn't. The three games are easy to play. In the asteroid game, the bullets sometimes acted weirdly. For example, when one bullet touched another, they both started spinning and flying in every direction.

How does your game meet GBJam's theme
Old gold is nostalgic memories from your childhood. Play through mini games as you relive going to an arcade.

Thanks for the feedback! I've seen that bug in a couple of play throughs, which is odd since I didn't get it in any playtesting. I have a suspicion on how to fix it though! I've seen a lot of people thinking it was going horror but it was supposed to signify the last game was a memory, never a real game!
The mini games were fun to play, I don't know what really happened in the last one (Two player) but after I finished it the whole arcade disappeared, I was thinking about a dark twist xD. The music was also spot on. Great Job with the game.
Very nice! Using the theme for arcade coins was very unique. The platforming game was a little bit of an issue, some coyote time and maybe slowing it down a little bit would help out cause I felt like I was sliding all of the place. Good job!
Nice game! It would have been nicer to have one fully developed game rather than three not as developed ones--the gameplay was a little janky (too big collision shapes, weird jumping physics), but overall, solid entry.
I really liked the idea of smaller games inside a game, and also the take on the jam's theme being nostalgia, compared to many other games where it's just gold (mine included), I think your game is original and cool, but gameplay and graphics wise it's lacking a bit, I finished it in 2 minutes. Overall, great gob!
Like the minigame variations! One question I did have was what did the final minigame represent?
The whole game feels dream-like, but the last game exceptionally feels like a weird fever dream. Games werent hard per say, but for the first I didn’t even know how I won and the last one was just puzzling. Not bad per say, just weird?
Graphically while the game looks okay, nothing really spoke gameboy to me, music and sfx were okay, maybe a tad to loud.
Not sure if you know, but even if I select options, the game starts.
Overall not a bad game, just a bit hard to put my finger on it.
The platforming was a bit difficult for me (as I said on another project, I'm just not good at WASD controls), but overall I liked it. Music was slightly creepy, and I'm assuming that was intentional. Like the echoes of the past overlaying the present.
This is a really clever idea, and definitely hit the nostalgia feels. Hope you add a third game in the arcade.
