what a great game! i love this type of logic puzzle and i think the little story is so cute. thanks for sharing, i'm happy to have this on my emulator :)

some feedback for improvement: i could be wrong but i think level 5 has several valid solutions that don't register as correct. also i think it would be nice if levels had an indicator in the level select that they’ve been solved.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot :) Yes, level 5 has been fixed in the HTML version. A solution indicator was planned, but I ran out of time.

Very happy to have this on my Game Boy! I’ll be playing more on the commute next week. I wish more people included GB files with their games.

The rule screen makes everything easy to understand right away. With just a few simple rules, it turns into a very puzzling puzzle game. The art is really cute and charming and the music fits it very nicely.

Really good game.  Stands on its own merit! I'll be playing this one long after the jam ends. I  gave you guys a follow in the hopes you add more levels!

I had no idea about this genre of game until today, but I really enjoyed it! The art was simple but effective. I like the facial expressions on the stars, though it did confuse me a bit since I wasn’t sure if they had any significance (it seems like it’s just for decoration).

I played this on stream today (recording here) in case you’re interested in watching someone play your game. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for the video it was fun to watch :) (and yes the star expressions are random)

A cute and polished implementation of Queens or Star Battle on the Game Boy. It's a well made game, but my question is how it connects to the Old Gold theme? Very loose connection. Still, I can see myself playing this in my off time. Congrats on the game, and I wish you the best.

I'm loving the puzzles! Reminds so much of an open-source puzzle game collection I install on every Linux distro I use, except this has better presentation.

I will note that I think puzzle 3 might have two solutions, but only one is accepted. Five seems to have even more solutions.

After enough time, the puzzle-solving music loop does get a little grating, but that is definitely the product of jam crunch preventing a longer track.

Would be really neat to build out algorithmic puzzle generation, but that might be beyond the GameBoy's specs.

Developer

Thank you for your messsage :) No algo was created, its way over what i can do for a jam haha. Levels were build by hand, Microsoft paint and a lot of try and retry. And unfortunalty thats true for level 3 and 5. (but patched in the html build)

This sudoku-like puzzle is really really fun!! I hope you guys make more levels in the future.

All the art used in the game is really cool too.

Neat game. Congrats!!!

Love love love the puzzle! It really makes me think, took a bit to get fully but once I did I was hooked. its so impressive that you got so many levels all done! The art is very cute and gives me good gameboy vibes.

Kittens are so cute... This game is 100% in the spirit of the Game Boy.  The music reminds me of a Yoshi game that was also available for this console.  Good job!

Quite insane that you managed to do so many levels, I can see myself playing this for an hour or even more.

such a solid entry. it feels polished and like it could be a real gameboy game.
I was actually shocked and saddened when I realized I had solved the last puzzle.

Submitted(+1)

I absolutely loved the game. I finished all levels and was left wanting more.

I'm so bad at these puzzles lol, very fun though, the game feels super polished, everything works great

Developer(+1)

You’re not that bad if you made it all the way to level 20, haha (unless you just went straight there from the menu ^^”)

For this one, That’s the right answer, did the game not accept it?

Submitted(+1)

Oh it did accept it, I just wanted to show the game running on real hardware :)

Hello! Good job on the game. I also noticed at least for level 3, the html and gb versions of the game are different are there any other differences between the two versions? Anyways, good game and I hope you'll leave us a rating as well!

Developer

very strange because “Enter” or “Space” works well for me. But I didn’t have time to add an error sound for incorrect answers. Perhaps your proposed answers weren’t good.

And yes i change one wall in the level 3 to be sur to have just one solution.

I replayed it on the html and enter or space worked just fine. I downloaded something to run .gb for this jam today so my buttons might just be wierd or messed up on the gb side. Anyways, good job!
