How does your game meet GBJam's theme
You're a miner working an old gold mine, collecting old gold coins as you go, dodging rocks and rusted out carts left behind by whoever was digging here before you.

Love the leaderboard addition! Some good clean action in here :D Well done. I think it was already noted, but it does break the resolution limits with some of the effects.
I GOT ON THE LEADERBOARD!!!! The game was really fun, and the music slaps. I was going a bit too fast to read the signs. Really good job!
The gravity is a little weird but It's fun and I like the obstacles and concept.
Cool game! Visuals and gameplay are nice and polished, and the music sounds great! Managed to set some nice scores on the leaderboard, very much enjoyed playing this one! Keep it up ^^
Thank you for playing and congratulations for being on the top of the leaderboard!
Fun game! I like it. Feels really nice! It is simple and kinda tough in a good way. I'd try to get on the leaderboards but I'm too lazy lol.
Though I'm going to sadly point out that even if it is fun, it doesn't... really follow the rules of the jam @.@
The space used definitely isn't just 160x144 and the use of 5+ colors does happen as well. This is kinda obvious when looking at the minecart squashing and stretching. It's a neat effect but it clearly is the sprite being scaled at a resolution greater then on GB. Perhaps more notable though is the fade in & out. Which has several shades and is definitely too smooth and round to be a GB effect. Which I've attached a picture of below.
But again, it is pretty fun! And a leaderboard system is very good too! I should learn how to do that some day as well!
Hello and thank you for the feedback! If you don't mind, could you explain what I did wrong regarding the resolution? I have my viewport resolution set to 160x144 so I don't understand how I am scaling the sprite to a resolution greater then on GB. I would like to understand to avoid this mistake in future jams. Thank you!
Well for my Godot pixel projects there's a few settings I set. In Project Settings -> Display -> Window, I'm sure you set Viewport width & height. But you should also set Stretch settings. Mode should be set to viewport and Scale Mode should be set to Integer.
I'm not the best at explaining it, hovering over the settings will explain it a bit better. Viewport mode is basically like, what if you processed the space, upscaled it, then rendered. Disabled & Canvas Items modes are basically what if you scaled up the space first, processed it, and then rendered. This means that things that use scalable graphics process at a higher resolution, such as text outlines or your fade out circle or your mine cart squashing and stretching. That last thing is also why scale mode should be set to integer to avoid some oddness too.
Hopefully that helps! You may need to make adjustments to a number of things though to make it work. Like you might still have some additional colors due to the way your fade out works.
Really neat! I got onto the leaderboards
Unfortunately as an old man there is an upper limit to how good I can be at a game like this. I still managed to get in the zone and get some respectable scores. Enjoyed it!
It's just like the “Pou” mini-game for the Game Boy! A fun game.
Thank you very much for taking the time of playing the game!
So fun, I loved it. It's like that mini-game in Stardew Valley that I'm terrible at haha.
Thank you very much for taking the time of playing the game!
Good arcade fun, and the leaderboard had me going for one more run. Obstacles mix it up nicely too
Thank you very much for playing!
Loved it! My brain didn't really liked the perspective but i got a hold of it.
Thank you very much for playing!
Nice variations in obstacles, i do like how the jumping system variations as well and having a leaderboard (that keeps record). Good one!
Thank you very much for playing!
There's still gold in them hills! Nothing like a good ol' fashioned endless runner. Although I briefly had some Donkey Kong Country flashbacks haha. Took a couple tries to get into the flow, but once I found it, I was happy to place #2 on your Leaderboard. Nice job!
Thank you very much for playing! I was aiming for the Donkey Kong Country vibes when I was developing this so I am glad someone noticed it haha. You also got a very good score!
Simple, great game
Thank you very much for playing!
Simple little arcade game. I got to 380 coins. I liked it!
Thank you very much for playing! That is a super high score!
