Great use of the theme! The music and sound effects are both very good. One thing you could do is maybe make it go faster the longer you play, and make it more satisfying to collect a coin. The thing that tells you how many coins you have is pretty hard to read. The movement feels a little janky.

Thanks—I'll improve that, but I couldn't do it at the time because I was short on time and wasn't sure I'd make it; I preferred to just finish it rather than cutting it down to the last three hours.

Also, I just noticed that later into the game there’s actually upgrades, which is cool. But I wish they were introduced earlier.

If you put them in every 100 coins—or every 100 or 200—each time you gather 100 coins... and also, if you don't buy speed upgrades, your speed increases as you collect coins; you notice it at the 100, 150, or 200-coin mark.
