It's been a while since we updated this page, so I don't really remember properly, but yeah, we probably used AI to help generate the description. 🙃
English isn't our main language, so we usually draft what we want to say first, then let AI fill in the gaps and proofread.
I'm not sure about the game UI, though. If you could point out what you think looks AI-generated, we'd gladly confirm whether that's the case or not.
For full disclosure: we do use AI to help with our games, but all final art in the games is drawn, rigged, and animated by humans.
We obviously use it on the code side too, though a lot of the generated code still needs proper review and editing from the developer.
Otherwise slop creeps in and the codebase becomes impossible for a person to maintain long term.
That said, we did consider using AI for the characters' voices. The voice synth worked well for normal speech, but once we tried to make it moan, growl, breathe, and make other non-speech sounds that are normal for a human, the whole thing started sounding like dubstep.
The artist ended up recording the voices herself (with a bunch of pitch shifts and tweaks) on a crappy microphone. That's why her recordings have a lot of noise/static if you turn the character volume up.
Hope this helped clarify our AI usage.
